The best authentic Mexican restaurant by far in Chattanooga, and definitely not the normal Tex-Mex cuisine that most places have to offer! The service is always excellent! I am making it my goal to try everything on the menu! So far I’ve been here at least 45 times and have never left disappointed! Do you self a favor and save room for dessert!!!

We stopped for the night in Chattanooga on our way home to Wisconsin from Florida, read the great reviews about this place, and as a result, ordered take-out food to bring back to our hotel room.The food was excellent! It was the best Mexican food we've ever eaten. My husband had chicken fajitas (regular portion - the large portion would have fed a family of four!) and I had green chicken enchiladas. The portions were generous, flavorful and hot. And the price was right - our total tab was $26.We highly recommend!
We drove straight through from Florida to Chattanooga and stumbled upon this place. Delicious, fresh authentic food. The waitress was so friendly and accommodating and made us a spinach dip which was simple yet amazing. I give El Taxqueño 5 stars and we will definitely visit on our next saunter through the south?

Driving from Chicago to Miami and I was about to stop at Taco Bell, so happy I went here instead.Excellent little shop. Grabbed three language tacos for 10 bucks. Fantastic sauces great service great restaurant.
We were craving artistic Mexican food and this restaurant truly is. Tacos , tortas , my husband had the best enchiladas he had ever tried ? service was the best extremely friendly and excellent. Best Mexican restaurant in Tennessee . Will definitely keep going .
Breakfast all day? Yum! Tried this place tonight cause I moved close to it. But if I knew how good it was gonna be I would've driven out from anywhere in Chatt for it. Fantastic food! Good service and good prices. I WILL be coming back. If you want good Mexican, come try this place. Needs more patrons for how good it is.
Wow, this place is perfect. Not a tourist trap, but just a great mom and pops restaurant. Great service, best authentic Mexican food I've ever had, huge portions and easy access from I24. We will plan stops here every time we come thru the area.
