Went here with a coworker of mine to support local it was his first time coming. While we were eating our food a young woman who was clearly on something and homeless came into the business and was asking all the customers to pay for her food one by one. While the business can’t control who walks in they made no effort to escort this person out and keep them from harassing paying customers. A few people who were eating inside walked out because they didn’t want to be harassed. My coworker was kind enough to pay for her meal (even though she was being deceptive) but he shouldn’t have been taken advantage of in that way.Food was average. Highly recommend that the business watches over clientele so customers feel welcome to patron.
I usually love to frequent this business but today will be the last day until their customer service improves. Today I called to place a pick up order and was informed there would be a 30 min wait on ribs which is fine I still decided this is where I would be eating so I waited 45 mins and attempted to order. Upon attempting to place my order I was informed there would be an additional 45 min wait. I politely informed the cashier(slim older black man) that I had called and what I was told. At that point another taller larger framed black guy came out the back and said “well they aren’t ready I know what you were told but it ain’t ready, if you’d like I’ll give you a raw sandwich” at that point I was just wondering where did all the hostility come from as I was just trying to be clear on what I needed to do. I did say that I alway visit and I’m shocked at how I was being talked to and I heard him mumbling to another employee that I’d be alright and basically they didn’t care. I really love the food here and for the most part all of my experiences have been pleasant but this one guy in particular always has a ugly disposition and they will lose customers if he’s up front taking orders
I try to keep an open mind about the restaurants I visit. I love visiting restaurants and want them to succeed. That being said, I have a problem with restaurants who don't try or care about their customers. We searched online for a good barbecue place and saw Chatt Smoke House with decent reviews...which still baffles me. wish I could understand the positive reviews for this place, but logically, I don't.We walked 13 minutes from our hotel, to a shady area of town. Right away, we had bad vibes, as the restaurant was dirty on the outside with a handwritten note in the window. Inside was just as bad, with filthy floor, tables and chairs. The cashier was eating chips, put them away, and brushed off her hands before taking our order. My wife ordered the Barbecue Chopped Chicken Dinner with coleslaw and baked beans. I ordered the Barbecue Beef Dinner with fries and baked beans. We waited for about 25 minutes before our number was called. Unfortunately, when we got to our room and tried the food, it was absolutely DISGUSTING! My wife's chopped chicken was supposed to be barbecued, but was so undercooked, it crunched and had a sour taste. My Barbecued beef was literally Curly's or Lloyd's beef, just reheated. the sides were cold...even my fries were cold. A complete waste of $30.00 for terrible, undercooked, grocery store food you could make for $8 at home.Don't make the mistake we did.Save your money and patronize restaurants which care about the customers. No restaurant should take advantage of their customers by serving them bad/undercooked food, and then charging them.
Amazing BBQ. Some of the best I ever had. We got takeout for a family of 6, beef chicken and ribs. Very large portions and cooked perfectly. I recommend this place to everyone.
Best ribs in Chattanooga and all of northwest Georgia, hands down. We’ve tried them all, and Chattanooga Smoke House has the BEST!!!
10/10 would recommend. You would be doing yourself a disservice if you didn’t stop in for a plate. Staff was extremely sweet and helpful; felt like home. We ordered the rib and chopped chicken plate. Everything was very tasty and flavorful. Portions are great for the price (we had already started digging in when pictures were taken). If we are ever in Chattanooga again, we won’t hesitate to stop by.
The staff is not friendly, but that is not honestly that's not what I went for. My ribs were smoked very well and my fries were well cooked. My wife did not enjoy her pulled pork and was not a fan of the coleslaw(I thought it was fine) either. It is black owned and operated, their pricing is more than fair considering their portions and their desserts are home made.
Tried to eat here when I came in one day. They had people inside waiting already so i knew it probably be awhile but I didn’t mind waiting since I’ve work in the restaurant business for many years. The thing I didn’t like and made me left was I wasn’t even greeted inside or anything but I know they saw me. Whenever someone new came in he immediately greeted them yet I waited there 10-15 mins and not even being asked anything yet. I think because I’m not African American :(
HANDS DIWN BEST BBQ IN THE CITY5 stars
I would give this restaurant 10 stars if I could; I ate there for the first time today for! It's Friday, and I want to do something a little special for lunch. I paid $15 for a rib plate and it blew me away!I had to stop myself from eating that entire rib plate! Which I have to add, included two big old whopping sides of potato salad and slaw. They ain't trying to skimp on you around here! You get your money's worth and then some. Those ribs, y'all! Those ribs were perfection! Oh yeah, I don't want to sleep on the sides, Because they were delicious as well.I'm just saying, if I was ever on death row, and it was my time. I know I would be considering Chatt Town Smokehouse as my last meal.Well it's dinner time, so I'm going to go finish off these leftovers. ?P.S. Thank you Ms. Rose for the suggestion!
