My sister-in-law brought me to this restaurant and said that they had amazing catfish. I have to agree that it was some of the best I’ve had in a long time. The tartar sauce was amazing, the fish was seasoned just perfectly, and the hush puppies were wonderful. I loved the nice outdoor seating area. If you go I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Great place for fried chicken and other fried delights! Close to the highway on i-75 very convenient.Fried Chicken is very tender and juicy, a little bit salty, but very good.Coleslaw is very creamy and sweet. Might be too sweet for some people.Mashed potatoes were excellent.We sat in the bar area and it was a little bit noisy, but not excessively so for a bar area! But this is not a quiet romantic dining spot! Good hot fried food.Service was excellent and food came out in an acceptable length of time.Felt a lot like a beach restaurant.

Went to Champy’s on MLK to get some boiled crawfish. I’m a Louisiana native and my 1st year here tried the crawfish from here and it was good, not so much now. We ordered the 4lb serving for $35 which is about $8 a pound which is kinda pricey. Then we had to pay an additional $8 to get the “fixins” (2 eats of corn, mushrooms, 2 potatoes and 2 pieces of sausage) which I think is ridiculous and just another way for them to gouge you for more money. We had a iced tea and 1 40oz beer and our bill was $71!! Just ludicrous!! Last year when I ordered crawfish they were bad as in not good to eat should have been thrown in the garbage. I reached out and was told they would replace my order but that never happened. So this time the crawfish were to spicy with no salt! My husband enjoyed them cause he can take the spice however they were not enjoyable for me. This is two times I have paid an astronomical price and have been disappointed. I will no longer be giving them by business of any kind much less for the horrible crawfish!
This place is awesome. Fast and courteous servers. Laid-back atmosphere with good jazz music and cool dollars everywhere. Their chicken will remind you of your grandmother's. It is outstanding!!! Their fish is also mouth watering. All the sides were great. If you get a chance please stop in. It worth every penny. The name says it all!!
I genuinely love the food and the environment, probably the best chicken and fries in the state without a doubt. The service is somewhat laughable though at times and almost every time we've come the waitresses have gotten distracted socializing with others or completely forgot my groups order. Love this restaurant but God please train your waitresses better.

Real neat looking inside. Food was alright, rather salty, more expensive than I would like. Nice outside dining.
