We've been going Champy's for years, We missed a few months until we moved back to the area. We have always nick named it 'High Dollar Chicken' but the potions were so large it was worth it. Tonight was such a letdown, not only had the prices gone up 30% but the portions were cut in half. Never have we ever felt such a let down from such an iconic restaurant. I completely understand the rise in price with the economy in ruins, but don't skimp on the portions. Use to be you didn't leave Champy's hungry. but tonight we came home and cooked a pizza.

Great atmosphere and really good food. Fried green tomatoes for an appetizer was excellent. I had the catfish and chicken and can't wait to go back again.

Awesome service! My waitress ( Marina) was off the chain. She needs to be teaching other employees! Nice to have a professional serve our dinner with positive attitude!!! My Gal Marina!

Excellent catfish and a relaxed atmosphere. The staff was wonderful and helpful and the food was very good. I would be here again next time I’m in town.

We saw a number of people going into this restaurant. Fried chicken sounded good for dinner so we went in. The decor theme is (?) sports, rustic barn with chandeliers and red Christmas lights. It is a loud, noisy place. We had chicken tenders and a mix of white and dark meat. Sides are baked beans (good) and slaw (not good). The tenders were fine, as well as, the white meat (breast). The dark meat thigh and leg were not well cooked and the leg bone was broken. How does that happen? Each plate came with a slice of white bread. There was no butter, jelly, honey. What do you do with the dry bread? We left it untouched along with the uneaten slaw. Then we found out a surcharge of 4% is added if not paying by cash and a debit card is not considered cash, so we had to pay the surcharge. The service was very good.

Champy's never disappoints. I was here for lunch on a Friday. The staff was friendly and readily available. The food was excellent. Today I had the tenders basket with fries and Champy's sauce. Often I order the chicken salad or gumbo. Great atmosphere, wonderful clientele, amazing food!

Normally love this spot and come here anytime I'm in Chattanooga but was really disappointed with today. Let me first say that the service was okay and nothing out of the norm. We ordered beers and got them fairly quickly as well as our app but then sat there for over an hour waiting on the meals to come not even exaggerating (for 3 people). We were told it was because there was a massive takeout order but we were one of two tables at the restaurant. The table that sat down a good 10 or 15 mins after us were eating their meals in no time but we waited and waited. I didn't really understand how a take out order of massive size takes precedence over an order sitting at a table that ordered a long while ago. I didn't want to be rude so we just said it was all good but to wait as long as we did was either she forgot us or who knows... Guess I won't be taking guest here anymore. Sucks when you hype it up and how good it is so much just to be disappointed. The food was hot and tasty but not worth an hour plus wait especially when it's practically dead there. For the record it was just after 8pm so it wasn't close to closing or anything like that. Thankfully there is plenty of other really good food elsewhere here to entertain friends with. I hope this was just a blip but unfortunately it kinda ruined the experience of a place I usually look forward to visiting

Went to lunch, and food was fine. Received my bill, which included the entire total, saying “balance due” was $30. Handed over my card, and was charged $32. I asked the waitress, and only then did she inform me that there’s a 4% processing fee on credit cards. I paid my bill, and asked to speak with the manager. She informed me that this is the business owners’ instructions, and when I suggested that waitstaff should inform patrons of the charge before running the card, she indicated that the owners don’t want them to. She then said they have signs posted on the front and back of doors. If you’ve been to champy’s, you know that there’s a million things all over the walls, and it’s unlikely that a patron would notice a new sign unless their attention was explicitly directed to it. When I found the signs, they were laminated half sheets of 8x10s, and there was nothing remarkable about them that would draw attention to them for patrons to be on notice. This is a deceptive business/billing practice, it probably violates their contract with their credit card processor, it definitely violates the contract (bill) with patrons, and I will not be going back unless/until it is rectified.

How can I describe this joint? Take a liberal helping of B.O.'s Fish Wagon (Key West). Add a couple spoonfuls of Hooters Restaurant. Mix in some really tasty Fried Chicken. Throw everything in a Tennessee Vols Crockpot. Serve with a garnish of happy old and young customers. Now you've got a pretty good idea of what to expect at Champys. Great food. Great Service. Great Prices. It's the real deal!

Great food, fast friendly service.
