My husband and si visited Bella Lisboa yesterday not j owing what to expect. We ordered the Piri Piri lettuce wrap and the octopus as appetizers. We were surprised about the flavors, especially the Piri Piri (chicken). Then we ordered an Oso Bucco plate and the red snapper as entrees. Both dishes were amazingly good. The beef was extremely tender and flavorful and the fish was delicious. They served us good portions of food. Service was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and did not pressure us to leave by giving us the ticket before asking us if we wanted any dessert or coffee. I recommend Bela Lisboa if you want to try Portuguese and Mediterranean food. The place was clean. If you are expecting a fancy restaurant, this one is not but the atmosphere is great.
Great food in a nice atmosphere with friendly, attentive service. The Chorizo Assado appetizer is tasty and fun, brought to your table on fire. They could provide a little more potatoes with it, though, so you can get some in every bite. The Salmon is good and the fig marmalade pairs well. The Bacalau a bras is like a Portuguese version of American corned beef hash, very hearty and flavorful. can't wait to visit again and try some other items.
First of all, I am SHOCKED that this restaurant has received so many good reviews. I was EXCITED about taking my boyfriend here for his birthday, the menu selections looked incredible, the location is convenient, we had never been before and were looking forward to trying something new! I chose the restaurant based on the fact that ossobuco is on the menu, it’s one of the birthday boys favorite dishes! Upon arrival we were seated promptly at our reservation time of 7pm, we waited until 7:15 until anyone approached our table to take a drink order. we ordered an espresso martini and the fig&goat cheese appetizer, appetizer was easily the best think we ate that night, it was awesome. My $12 martini came in a champagne flute, weird but eh, ok. When it came to ordering food my date excitedly ordered the venison Ossobuco, which was unavailable so he settled for the seafood risotto, I ordered the surf and turf option with scallops, was told that the filet cut was unavailable the substitution was a Brazilian cut, at the same price point as filet!? Food came out in a decent amount of time, hot stone cooking was neat, but not well thought out, there was no extra plate served with the hot stone, so once the food finished cooking I had to just set it on the wooden frame around the stone, I did not receive a steak knife with my meal, which may have been fine had I been able to order filet, but the Brazilian cut proved to be impossible to cut with the butter knife as it was tough and chewy. I was never offered another cocktail, on the reservation I mentioned that we were there to celebrate a birthday, that was not mentioned or acknowledged. We spent around $100 there and would have spent more had the experience been good at all. I’ve worked in restaurants for my entire career, I rarely write reviews, much less negative ones but this was just SO LAME. I get it, Covid changed things in restaurant world, but this was unnecessarily bad with not even a hint of effort.
Run do not walk here.a superb dinner at an incredibly low price.we would come back here once a week if we lived in the area
Reasonably priced, great service, delicious food, and dang good dessert! We just got done with our Sunday brunch at Bela Lisboa and we couldn’t be happier! My fiancé and son thoroughly enjoyed their filet mignons and my peri peri Benedict was great. Since their prices were so reasonable, we decided to splurge on some dessert. The chocolate lava cake was so good and we got some bailey’s ice cream on the side! 10/10 definitely recommend!! We found our new favorite brunch spot. :)
BL is in the top 5 of my favorite Chattanooga restaurants. Took mom there today for Mother’s Day. She loved it! Most of the food such as the seafood bisque, filet, chorizo, and shrimp were excellent. The duck burger in the other hand was one of the worst things I have ever been served, anywhere. First, the texture of the meat was mushy, it literally fell apart when I cut a piece for mom to try. Second the flavor was overwhelmed from what must have been cumin. If that’s all I’ve ever tried I’d never go back. Asked for the fries to be cooked crispy, and they were not as they obviously sat out because they were room temperature. One last comment, the service is slow and at times not too good. Early on I asked for salt and pepper which never was brought out. Had to ask two or three times for other items. They need to work on that simple stuff that leads to customer angst. Try the seafood bisque, it’s the best I’ve had anywhere.
Went for the first time on mother's day and I was astounded and delighted at how amazing the food, service, and environment were! Some of the best food we've ever had and we can't wait to go back!
Specifically told the waiter who was in charge about my allergy and what happens I have an anaphylactic reaction and he doesn’t even ask if i am ok. My husband doesn’t leave a tip, I even had to use a second Epi pen in the car he had the nerve to tell at us “don’t come back” don’t worry.. I called the next day to a manager it was him he said “I don’t have ti explain myself to you” I replied I could have died and he hung up on me..
The food was fabulous. We wanted to try Portuguese food as had never had it. The server, Gabe was very knowledgeable and attentive. The seafood bisque was unbelievable. My husband had the baked Octopus and I had the red snapper. All was well prepared and seasoned well. Would definitely recommend.
Absolutely amazing!!! Our first visit, but definitely not our last. Our server, I think her name was Kiki was outstanding. She was so helpful and a real pleasure to deal with. It was just my husband and I and we tried as many new things as we could. We had the piri-piri shrimp, the octopus in olive oil with roasted garlic(you have to ask for bread and dip it in the oil left over from the octopus!!!) for appetizers, followed by the Romain salad with blue cheese and citrus vinaigrette. The dressing was so light that you couldn’t see it but it was a perfect compliment to the blue cheese and craisins. My hubby had the seafood bisque, and let me say there were chunks and chunks of seafood in it…very good. For entrees, he had the risotto with shrimp, scallops, and octopus… over the top excellent! And the paella…again lots and lots of seafood in it, along with the chicken and sausage. It was very good, but the risotto was the knockout entree for sure. A s if this all wasn’t enough, we had the figs with goat cheese DESSERT, AND a Deconstructed Apple Pie, along with paired Cellos. The drinks were spot on and paired amazingly with the desserts. With our dinner, we had the Sangria, (again amazing!!), so we finished the night off with some fresh hot coffee. These people know how to do it all, from food to drinks to employees, I would give them 12 stars(out of 10)! No overpowering spices or heavy, greasy artery clogging regrets. A true foodie dream! Thank you again Kiki!
