My wife and I were really excited to try this place. For Mother’s Day my wife asked to grab a to go order for supper. The order was said to be ready at 6:50, I get there at 6:55 and get ignored. The floor was so sticky I had to peel my shoes off the floor with each step. I finally go up and ask about my to go order that I see sitting on the counter this whole time. The kid looks at me like he has no idea what I’m talking about so asks the guy next to him who goes “Don’t ask me” the two continue to argue about non related things the remaining of the time I wait. I go up to the chefs preparing the sushi and ask if there is anyone to help with the order. He then had to instruct the two arguing men that my food is on the counter. I didn’t get out of there until 7:20. We get home and realize our food is incomplete, shortage on portions, and no chopsticks. We will definitely never ever go back there. Very unprofessional. Not to mention the food tasted awful.

Excellent service! Very delicious!

The food is overall pretty good. You can see them making it as well which is a big plus. We got the bento box, it was quite filling. The pricing is around $20 per person if you get their tea. The wait was pretty large around 45 minutes but the food made it more worthwhile. Overall recommended for a date, taking the family could get a bit pricey depending on what you order.

We got it Samurai when they were not busy. There was only one other table there when we arrived. By the time we left there were maybe 4-6 tables seated mostly with two people each and our table of four. They seem unable to keep pace even with few customers. The server was definitely new and his attire was unbecoming. He was not able to answer basic questions about menu items and didn’t offer to find out so our questions simply went unanswered. He never checked on us to see how our food was or to offer refills on beverages and we had to go to the bar area to ask for our check and to get a to go box.I ordered a boba tea as my drink but I didn’t receive it until after I received my soup, salad, and appetizer (35 minutes after ordering it). Full service time from order to check was about one hour so overall, not bad there.Aside from the service, the food was surprisingly good for how much the microwave was used. I’d personally put that out of sight in my kitchen as it’s not the most classy thing to see used continuously in a restaurant. We also saw prepackaged food being opened and served although we couldn’t quite see what was in the bags. Our bill came out to $80 for two appetizers and 4 entrees which for good food and atmosphere would have been worth it if I didn’t feel like I was partially just served frozen food from SAMs Club out of the microwave.Hide your prepackaged goods and your microwave usage better and work on your wait staff’s appearance, education of menu, and attentiveness.

I think this place has a lot of potential but it's not quite there yet. The menu is large and varied and we chose a dinner for two called The Hungry Monkey. The portions were generous but the chicken, shrimp, and beef seemed overcooked and slightly bland. The vegetables were excellent and I also liked the rice and spaghetti. I will definitely go back and try it again as I know they have struggled to get enough help.

So happy to have a new, quality restaurant in our area of the west side. The sushi is good, fresh quality and they hustle to make everything perfect. They might not have all the help they need right now, things are hectic but they are great people! Always happy with our food!

I really enjoyed my lunch outing to Samurai, and highly recommend. The Hakimaru appetizer was delicious, and the spicy roll sushi was very tasty. I liked the taste of the crab, salmon, and tuna, and the bang-bang sauce was awesome. I definitely look forward to coming back and trying more items on the menu.

I called in an order to go and they said it’d be ready in 20 minutes. I got there 20 minutes later and waited another 40 minutes until it was ready. Then I got the food home and it was below average. Soggy and not overly flavorful. I’ve never posted a bad review online before now but I truly didn’t have a good experience and will not be back.

My husband and I love this place! Great West side option for sushi- the Hawaiian roll is our favorite! Their delicious and wonderful food is only matched by their excellent costumer service.

My last day visiting Sioux Falls before I go back home to Arizona and decided to stop by for lunch at Samurai, overall amazing sushi I would definitely come back here again next time. The service was great for a Thursday afternoon. I’ve been to many other sushi places in town and I would say this is the best. I got the lunch special with my dad, we both got to pick 2 sushi types and the total without tip was just under $20 which is a great deal!
