Small restaurant just 12 minutes from Mt.Rushmore. The food was much better and cheaper than the options found near the Monument. We were glad to skip the pricey in town restaurants for this little gem. The food was great and service was very friendly. It's not big inside but there is also patio seating. The parking area is probably the only downside. It's a little small but looks like it can accommodate enough vehicles.
What an amazing place!!!! We were staying at the sweet grass inn next door and got some dinner before bed. It was soooo good! Shipwreck burger was cooked to perfection... fries were crunchy and not overly salted like other places. The breakfast in the morning was also so good! And that is coming from a person who doesn't really like breakfast...So over all great place! Friendly staff too.
Stopped in July 7th before heading off to an attraction an hour away. From the outside, I was wary. But once inside, we were immediately greeted by woman that also tended the bar (don't recall her name - petite lady with short black hair). She was helpful and friendly. We both ordered salads. My husband got the Taco salad and said it was very good. I got the Lighthouse Salad with raspberry vinaigrette, and it was to die for! Bravo, Shipwrecks! Next time we're in the area, you are a must on our list!
The food here was typical bar and grill food, very good for what it is. Not much to look at from the outside, pleasant inside. Very friendly and efficient service. I had the butterfly shrimp and my wife had the fish and chips. They were good, lots of beer selections.
Pretty cool vibe here, The service was great, the place looked clean, and the food came out quick. I got the chicken wrap, sadly it was pretty bland, however, my wife and daughter got the fish sandwich, and I had a bite of it...it was EXCELLENT!!! Also, one can tell that the tartar sauce was made in house. So...I guess if I recommended Shipwreck Bar And Grill to someone, I would have to say "Get The Fish", cuz that was pretty yummy.
Tired of chain restaurant menus when traveling? The Classic Burger is one of the best anywhere. And the menu includes a walleye dinner that was excellent. An added plus, on a Saturday night, was live music. Don't overlook the craft beer options from the region.
Fabulous place, Kendall at the bar was great giving us some good beer recommendations. The food was good too.We were staying in the associated Inn and whilst in the bar the owners both took time to come say hello, very welcoming.
Great place with a fantastic atmosphere. We were staying at the b&b next door, so it made sense to go there to eat. Food was brilliant. Beer was cold. Staff (Kendal) were lovely. Owners came to have a chat ?Highly recommend.
My husband, myself and our 3 year old pitty are moving cross country from Maryland to Washington state. We stopped here after seeing Mount Rushmore on our way to our next destination. We called ahead and they said the outdoor seating was pet friendly. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and they loved on my dog. They had a large wine list and beers on draft. Lunch was great. I had the chicken salad croissant which tasted like fresh pulled chicken. They got water for my dog. And there was a large grassy area in the back we could walk around. They were wonderful and so accommodating. It's also before the city gets busy, which is exactly what we were looking for. Whether you have pets or not this is a must stop!
Oh my gosh!! First time here but will be back. Excellent service, very friendly and fast! The food was hot and very tasty. Had chicken quesadillas, fish and chips and walleye nuggets. Was majorly impressed at how clean and neat looking everything was. Thumbs up guys!!!!
