Pacific Rim Cafe is a delicious spot for Asian cuisine! The menu has a wide variety of options for very reasonable prices — our meal was rich & flavorful and portion sizes were large. We ordered the Vietnamese Pad Thai and the large Pho. Rapid City is lucky to have this fantastic gem as a part of their food culture!
I have to say, walking into this place I had low expectations because of it being is a tourist area. I haven't been to very many places past the mid-west, so,my best Pho experience comes from within MN. But DAMN! This small dine in restaurant was really clean, had a good atmosphere and the large aquarium was pretty cool. While it's cliche. It was nice to know they kept it clean. And the Pho, just WOW, the broth was so clear and clean. It was amazing. And the large was loaded with meat and noodles. I got the P1, combination pho. If you're ever in Rapid City to site see or passing through, be sure to get your Vietnamese fix here. You won't be sorry. Spring rolls were good. Egg rolls were good and crunchy. A bit salty. But good. With that said, I didn't pick up MSG from the pho, and if it had any it couldn't be detected..I will visit if I am ever back that way.
We came in last Saturday afternoon, it was just us and 2 other small tables. Waitress came and greeted us and came and got our order, it was pretty close to 50 minutes before we got our food, mind you there was ONLY two other tables, our orders finally came out and it was not the right order. We had order a combination noodle plate with beef and shrimp, instead we got pork. Already running late we took a picture of it and just ate the meal so we can head out. Waitress came twice, during our order and delivering food. I tried multiple times to catch her but she always vanished in the kitchen. I went to go pay our bill and let her know about our orders and showed her the picture on my phone and what I ordered and then she went to get the cook. The cook looked at it and said "PORK AND BEEF THEY ALL FRY UP SAME!!" as she stomped back into the kitchen and I was trying to explain that I got the wrong order!! I went ahead and paid for the order. My family and I travel to Rapid at least once or twice and month and this is ALWAYS the only place we stop to eat before heading back home. This was so unprofessional of the way this was handled. I would give it 0 stars if I could!! Not that it would matter much but my family and WILL not return to this establishment.
This establishment has some very tasty dishes from the orient! I think I could call this place my favorite place to get some of the foods I enjoy from the orient. Food is always nice and hot, promptly made, but made with care, many dishes are seasoned very well and authentic. Presentation of food even in a to go box is nice. Dine in is good too, clean tables, floors are clean and bathrooms are kept clean, I would recommend this place with no hesitation since every time I have gone the food has been very good, hot and fresh and staff is always very friendly. Personally never been dissapointed in a visit here.
Large pho bowl was a decent sized portion as I eat a lot of food wherever I travel. A bit disappointed by the lack of spices. Usually most pho I've eaten has extra spices included on the bean sprout plate.
Our favorite restaurant!!! They are so kind and their food is amazing!! Especially love the creative kids plate, it's nice for toddlers who are exploring new foods. The sesame chicken is out of this world! We are regulars for their spring rolls too. Seriously BEST RESTAURANT IN TOWN!!! Such a professional team!! This is probably my favorite restaurant in all of rapid city and the surrounding area, the food is literally fantastic and fulfilling. I love getting spring rolls and rare beef pho, it genuinely tastes as if God himself touched his little finger in each and every single bowl of pho. Please go here, service is fantastic and the food is even better.
OMG!! This restaurant is so delicious! Spring rolls were fresh and tasty. Crab Rangoon had a lot of crab in them and so nice and hot!! Pad Thai was a bit different as it was Vietnamese style but very delicious. Highly recommend!
I have been going here regularly since they first opened and am generally so impressed! Their prices and quality are excellent, as is their service. I have tried many things on the menu and haven’t had anything that hasn’t been absolutely delicious! The only minor issue I’ve ever had is the occasional messed up take out order which can be tricky to get fixed, but the good FAR outweighs the bad! Additionally, their spring rolls are the best I’ve EVER had and their peanut sauce that comes with them is magnificent! Support local businesses and eat here!
LOVE their General Tso chicken. Stays crispy even when you order for pick up. Also, their pad thai new is the closest to pad thai from Thailand here in Rapid City.
