This is very typically an Olive Garden. We went to celebrate our one year anniversary of living full time on the road. I ordered the Tour of Italy which is Alfredo, lasagna and chicken parmigiana only for the server to return and tell me that they were out of lasagna. Now, the restaurant was not crowded by any means and this was a Thursday night so how does an Italian restaurant run out of lasagna? Needless to say I was disappointed. The service was good and the rest of the food was fine-nothing spectacular, of course.
This evening we decided to give this Olive Garden in Rapid City, SD after a two year hiatus due to Covid and the service we rec'd the last time we were there. In short, we won't be going back. This is not due to the food but the blatant lack of training the server displayed. First, no one came to take our order until another server took notice of us. The restaurant wasn't busy but seemed to be staffed by teenagers. At the end of our meal, with our mouths obviously full of food, the server asked if it would be card or cash? I remarked we are still eating. They have computerized billing machines tableside and when we looked at our bill we were surprised we were being charged for 2 tables ..$40 over what we actually owed!! I made the statement "You have to be kidding" On the way out 4 staff stood at the host station playing on their phones This used to be a good place to go for a meal; however, we won't be going back
We’ve never been to an Olive Garden but we arrived to Rapid City when many restaurants were closing so we had limited options. It was bustling! We sat at the bar and our waitress was lovely. The food was better than expected and overall it was a pleasant experience.
There was 9 of us tonight. The service was fantastic. The food came out quick and our waiter was better then we could ask for. Came back multiple times. The chicken and shrimp carbinara was amazing.
We (4) had an OUTSTANDING Lunch!!!! The food was hot and very tasty!!! Service by Roxie was OUTSTANDING!!! She made our meal even better with her ray of sunshine personality!!!!!Overall a VERY ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE!!!!
Roxie the waitress and did a great job. I rarely write very good reviews for the simple things. However, we had very great service! We felt valued, welcomed, and remembered our entire experience! Great job Roxie. Hopefully she will become a manager and train others!
My husband and I went there last week and our meal was amazing. It was so good that we went back this week. Our waitress was awesome, very personable and good at her job. I tried their margarita with amaretto (which my waitress recommended) and that was a very good, except the fact that there was a fruit fly in it??. The waitress offered to bring me a new one but at that point I knew it was all coming out of the same bottles so I just took my fruit fly out & hoped if nothing else, that the liquor killed everything. Trying to not allow this to ruin my experience….As I was almost finished eating my dinner I looked down to see a beard hair in my food!!!!! ???? The waitress handled It very professionally and took my meal off my ticket. But at that point my dinner and my husband’s dinner was absolutely ruined because we both wanted to puke. How many hairs did I eat before I noticed that? Did my husband eat hair in his meal?? We looked forward to this all week long, so much that before I found a hair in my food We ordered food to go.Needless to say I was absolutely grossed out by the situation I threw my food to go away automatically, because I didn’t want to eat any more hair or take the risk. so I ended up wasting $70 to have a fruit fly in my drink and hair in my food and I left still hungry???☹️ What an ABSOLUTE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!! I am not one to normally complain but my whole dinner date with my husband was ruined. I could have flushed $70 down the toilet and had more satisfaction.
I have been eating at this location for years and it’s always good. I just wanted to take a minute and give a shout- out to the server we’ve had the last couple of times , Gavin- he was so good. Attentive but not annoying and we never had to ask for refills, he just read our minds and knew exactly what we needed! Thanks Gavin! We will definitely be back!!
I’ve had terrible luck with the server I get every time I come to Olive Garden. I’ve had this guy who I think is named Gavin (he has a ponytail) and the past two times he has neglected my requests and disappears. He doesn’t give refills or fulfill the unlimited soup, salad, and breadsticks. I had to ask other servers for things I’d asked him for like 30 minutes ago. He would disappear for long amounts of time and overall was just not keeping up with his job. He would sweet talk other customers and then ignore my table. Other than that I usually have had good service.
The food was good, and our server was great. The only complaint was the group of other staff that just stood in a group in the walkway by the hostess desk. Everyone had to squeeze around them because they were not moving! It was like that the whole time we were there.
