If I could give no stars I would. They don't deserve 1 star to be honest.Took my family here to try for the first time. Little did we know we had to sit ourselves. Honestly they need a sign that states that because it can be confusing. The server seemed to be irritated, and annoyed. When she asked if we were ready to order and we said no but had a question, she stormed off and turned around rudely. Once we ordered and received our meal, they forgot to cook my daughters food and forgot hashbrowns which they turned out burnt.If you like cinnamon rolls I suggestion not ordering one from here. The one who received was hard with little to no frosting, to be honest it tasted like it came from the store. I was not impressed at all. From all the pictures we've viewed on their reviews, I believe they have 2 different menus which they give out accordingly to the customers. They don't give out free refills, you have to pay full price for another drink which is ridiculous. Out of the several ma and pa restaurants we've been too, never did we experience this. They may have "cheaper" prices but tax you out of the wazoo.Tip for those that have never ate here before... keep track of your prices for each items. They tax each item individually without telling you until you pay. Also, the receipt did not list everything you pay for. Which is very shady and seems like there hiding something. We spent well over 70 dollars for a family of 5. When we could have spent that amount at Denny's for more food.
Stopped for breakfast at Morning Side Cafe. The food was good. Eggs were cooked as requested. Bacon ? was good. French toast was good. He tried their chopped ham, scrambled eggs, & hash browns. He liked all of it.
This is the very definition of a mom & pop place. The staff is the friendliest around and your coffee mug will not go unfulfilled. This is a popular place and doesn't have a lot of seating, so you want to get their early, especially on the weekends if you don't want to wait.The food was not that great in my opinion, but I know that the locals love it. The coffee isn't bad and I would give it two stars, but the staff makes up for it and I know they are working hard. I liked the quotes about coffee on the menu and it's cozy enough to meet a friend for coffee and a chat.
This is the place for genuinely amazing southern made food. The food here is so good I'm coming back everyday I'm in Rapid City.
We love this restaurant and make time to come every time we are in Rapid City. The food is home cooked and reasonably priced. We like a good breakfast and this place delivers.
Morningside Cafe is one of the last, if not the only, restaurants left that feels like a hometown diner. The decor is John Wayne, the food is AMAZING, and the prices won't make you ask your boss for a raise! It's what I remember going to as a kid! Did I mention the food is next level?! It's like Grandma's kitchen on a Saturday morning!!! Do yourself a favor and grab some good food and keep a small business going for hopefully many years to come!
This is a great breakfast and lunch place. It's small but very popular with locals. Our breakfast was large and tasty. There's a John Wayne theme which we enjoyed. The corned beef hash is the best we have had.
Local dive. Insane breakfast. Great omelette and hasbrowns. Family feel from staff. Would come here first for breakfast if back in town!!!!
My family just needed a quick place for breakfast before heading out of town, and after a quick Google my husband found this place and said it had some pretty good reviews. Upon arrival I was a little apprehensive, and upon entry we weren't sure we were supposed to see ourselves. Thankfully I think a regular gave us a heads up that we could just seat ourselves.The restaurant was almost full when we got there, and the it took maybe 10 minutes before someone came and got our food/drink order. I was a little put off by that, but as I watched the staff running around and talking to everyone, and the fact that minutes after our order was taken, there was a wait for tables, I changed my mind. This is CLEARLY a place that has regulars, and seems to be well loved. I can appreciate a place where the staff seems to want to make everyone feel welcome, and is also busting their behinds trying to make sure everyone gets their food quickly.Our order came fast and not a thing was missing. It was all hot, and very good (pancakes were FANTASTIC), and they refilled coffee regularly. I'd like to think if I lived in the area, I'd definitely be a regular too.Definitely recommend stopping in if you want a good, hot breakfast! Next time we're in the area and need food, breakfast and or otherwise, we may very well be back.
Excellent filling meal. A definite must visit if you are in Rapid City!
