It was my first time at the new place and as I expected it was fantastic AWESOME!!!!
I was a sever at D’s wings from August of 2021 up until now (April 2022). Overall, the food is good and the kitchen and front-of-house staff are great people. The major issue with this restaurant is the the management and the way employees are treated by management (specifically the manager named Stephanie). Although she may have a good rapport with costumers, the way she speaks to her staff crosses the line of verbal abuse. I have personally worked in many restaurants since i was 15 and have been a server for at least the past 4 years now and let me tell you, i have NEVER in my life been spoken too (by management) in the way that Stephanie has. She belittles her employees by screaming profanities at them, constantly making them feel dumb, and talking down to employees as if they are not even human beings. I also know for a fact that my experience is not different from anyone else who works under her management. Many other servers feel her verbal abuse as well and i have personally witnessed her scream at one of my co-works until she (my co-worker) reached the point of tears. This was ultimately the reason I had to quit, every time I would work a shift with her as my manager it had a directly adverse impact on my mental health. I kept finding myself so worked up and upset after working a shift with her. Quiting D’s was the absolute last this I wanted to do, but after working with her for this amt. of time I had to put my mental health as a priority. I just couldn’t continue to subject myself to her verbal abuse any longer (no matter how good the money was) to be spoken down to in such a derogatory manner it’s just something I find completely unprofessional and unacceptable to be tolerated in the work environment.
I used to love going to this restaurant at their previous location. This visit was very disappointing. The garlic Parmesan wings were drenched in some kind of sauce. The wing chips were saggy and tasteless. Parking is very challenging. The one good thing was our server. She did a really good job in spite of being really busy. Don’t think I’ll be back.
loved this place. food & service was excellent! our waitress rocked. my boyfriend Elvis was there too!!
Been coming to D's since they were at the old location in Cayce. The food is still delicious at the new location but the parking is terrible. If you don't see anything immediately available don't risk going in the lot on a Friday or Saturday night, you might get stuck with no way to exit for a while and still not be able to find a space.
After over 32 years as a D's customer I recently find myself less inclined to go there. Number 1 is the parking. As we get older having to park across the street and walk a good distance has become difficult. Number 2 is disappointment with pricing. A hamburger steak does not seem to come with sides but the menu states sides with an entree are $1.19 and separately $4.99. Since the steak doesn't come with sides each side added was $4.99 plus an extra charge for gravy . So a $13.99 steak, mashed potatoes with gravy and a small side of veggies is just beyond my budgetEDIT: After a review of my receipt and a response from Billy I want to clarify that the hamburger steak with grilled onions and mashed potatoes was $12.99. Perfectly reasonable for a good product. My concern on the pricing was an additional charge of $4.99 for a small side of veggies when the menu lead us to believe they would be $1.19 or $1.99 (not sure now ) as a side with an entree. And $2.49 for a small container of gravy for the mashed potatoes. The explanation was that since the potatoes were a side any additional would be charged at the full price not at the additional to an entree price. As for parking we were advised to park in in the parking garage across from Terra. That would require walking from the car to the street and crossing State St then through an alley to get to D's parking lot. At our age and very arthritic knees this is not possible. Thanks D' s for taking care of customers that have been more than loyal since you opened in the 80's.
Nice atmosphere and friendly employees. Lil on the high price side , but chicken and beef cost has doubled since covid. I still recommend going here if you never been.
A lot of bad reviews on this place but when I came it was great. Service was good and friendly. Food was great although my friend had a burnt steak but they returned it and made it right. Beer is poured correctly so they aren’t giving you a glass full of head. Overall a good experience.Only thing I didn’t like is the entire restaurant is super bright. But that’s just me, I hate bright lights. But I will come back again.
1st time at the New Location, I had a good experience. Ryan and Jack were very nice and service was awesome. Didn't get a picture of the Irish Nachos but it was good and so was the salad.
