5 stars. Excellent food and outstanding service! The shrimp and grits are fantastic along with the seafood and chicken & waffles. We really enjoyed our visit and will be back.
My family was staying at Poinsett State Park, and we were hoping to find a local restaurant to support. We chose Simply Southern Bistro and LOVED it!! We are from Charleston, SC and this restaurant’s food could easily hang with our Downtown Charleston fine dining restaurants. Great menu selection, fresh ingredients and friendly service! Highly recommend!!

I would give this 20 stars if I could !! This was the BEST restaurant We’ve ever had! My boyfriend and I came down to Sumter for my grandmother’s funeral. Looking for something good to eat and he came across this place. BEST THING EVER !!!!!!! Wish we’d taken pictures.Now I’ll let him explain and type !!The menu is different and very unique while having great staples on it. The she crab soup is A1 the crab cakes are a great app to start the meal. Meats are cook to a perfect temp. The chicken and waffles are better than places like that specialize in that dish. This place is a gem 5 stars does not give enough credit for the food quality.
Tried it for the first time not too long ago and the salad I got for lunch with their homemade dressing was so good! The employees were also super nice! Will definitely be back!
I wish I took pics. But the service was excellent. It was a party of 7 and the women there made sure we were satisfied. Our food was delicious and I will definitely be back. And the atmosphere was so nice.
Cozy atmosphere with amazing food and staff. I don’t get to visit often, but I do stop when I am in the area. I tried the smoked Gouda burger with a side of sweet potato fries Saturday. I was in food heaven. The staff is friendly and never stop going from one customer to the next. This place is highly recommended.
