Food is pretty good just the portions are small. I had the cornbread, macaroni, honey chicken which were 4 little chicken wings and a slice of red velvet cake. $21 for this plate. While I didn't mind the price, the portion size is not worth the money. Two little tiny pieces of cornbread literally the size of a match box, about a 1/2 cup of macaroni and 4 small wings that didn't have that much honey on them. Cake was okay. It left me wanting more.
Food is pretty good. Didn't like the fact that I made an online order, waited 20 mins, showed up to the restaurant and still had to wait another 15 for my food to be cooked. Also for the cornbread to be a "side" I only got 2 hard dry bite size pieces.
Full of FLAVOR!! I sampled a little of everything!! Fresh HOT meal... cooked perfectly! The owner came to each table to make sure we were taken care of!! It's a must if you're in the area, if not take the drive!!
Went to broad street today, placed order on-line for it to be ready in 20 minutes, got there and still had to wait 15 minutes and it took 15 minutes to get there. I though on-line are to be ready for pickup. The rice was not done,(hard) gravy was not good as previously. We saw someone eating in and the difference in how the chicken looked was amazing. Ours was over well done(chicken thats the last to get done after grease been used several times) and their was a pretty golden brown. Are people who eat in getting better quality?
Here to eat so I’m rating the food and service, not the “ambiance” or any other worthless measures. Had grilled pork chops and greens-one or both weren’t on the printed menu but offered when I said I was trying keto. Chops were tender and the marinade has a nice little kick that sets it above what I normally get on the road. Green were spot on. Only complaint is that I couldn’t talk them into moving to the upstate where I live. ?
My second time here. The food and service is amazing. If you are new to Sumter as I am, and want some good Soul food come here. The tea, cornbread, chicken, greens are Devine… great place for the family to come and enjoy some great food.

Yesterday was our first experience and it was not a good one . Our food was cold ! Multiple items had to be sent back to the kitchen to be reheated . The flies are horrible a fly flew in a drink on the table. There was only 2 waiters .Chris was our waiter was good but it was a lot we had a party of 9 and our bill was 147 and I was so disappointed because I've always heard great things.Hopefully the service is better for other but ours was AWEFUL !!!!!!I'm not understanding how the food is place on broken plates ???Not to mention we were the first guest we arrived at 10:03 am...I wish I could give a 0 but I'll put a 1 for now !
The best food in Sumter, SC. Relaxing family atmosphere. Friendly and professional staff. Good Gospel music. Reasonably priced. Very clean.
This was me and my family’s first time at Jeffrey Lampkin's Country Boy Kitchen. The food was awesome. Emanuel gave us the most outstanding service, we will be back!
