Last February I moved to Sumter and ate here at IHOP. The service was so bad and the food cold, that I gave my very first bad review of a place. Today I'm rescinding that review. The new manager has cleaned house, replaced staff that needed to be replaced and really turned this establishment around. The food was made perfect to order, prompt just like our server Dani. It's like night and day difference from bad to good. Compliments to the hard work the new management has out into this restaurant and I highly recommend it for a good breakfast.
I had a great experience. I am disabled and had to go in because it was a last minute idea to get take out. The sweet lady at the register was beyond helpful. She let me sit and came over to me (I was sitting at the entrance chairs) and helped me pick out what I wanted for my son (he's picky) and put each of his in separate containers and that was a TRUE BLESSING! She was super nice and fun to talk to. I got home and everything was perfect and DELICIOUS!!!
I had family from Germany in town. It was their first time in the US. We started off at Applebee's on Monday night at 9:30. They told us the wait was 10 minutes. The restaurant was empty save for about 3 or 4 people. After half an hour of waiting we decided to leave. The six of us went next door to ihop. We waited about 5 minutes before the hostess came to seat us. She asked for our drink orders. About 5 minutes later she came back and told us there was no mountain dew, they were waiting for the delivery truck. So my brother ordered something else. Again she comes back and says there is no Dr Pepper, waiting for the delivery truck. So my BIL orders something different. Ten minutes later our drinks come. We wait another 20 minutes and finally get to put in our food order.Around ten minutes after our food order she says they don't have any burger patties, they are waiting for the delivery truck, and my BIL needs to choose something else. He has a poultry allergy so his option are limited. He ended up ordering Mozzarella sticks. Waited another half an hour, the waitress comes back and tells my brother that they don't have any pulled pork, they are waiting for the delivery truck. We finally got our food after 40 more minutes of waiting. Two hours of waiting for 10 minutes of eating. Outside of us there were two other people. Several more people came in after us but ended up leaving because they weren't being served.I guess this definitely sums up the Sumter experience.
Dont go here after dinner time my god we just sat here 2 hours before we got our food and had to send most back cause it was wrong they have literally 3 tables in here and no one knows what they are doing…. Manager is nice but has no clue what she is doing … wont be coming back here until they get it together… sad
Place was a little understaffed. Our server was nice and made efforts. Food was luke warm at best. Have been many other times where I had a better experience; today was mainly due to being understaffed.
Still needs more help as getting seated was slow. Once seated the service was good. Dining could be cleaner but not bad.
Service was fine, waitress was prompt and very friendly. The temperature in the dining room was cool so our food cooled off faster than we could eat it. The menus were in need of a good scrubbing, very sticky and dirty...I realize they are short staffed but come on...
The only reason you got a three is because of the older lady you have as a waitress she is great she didn't have our table but she took care of us because the rest of your employees were just talking around not really taking care of the customer
terrible service. took them 30 min to give me my to go order and they were walking around with airpods in and not getting my food. WAFFLE HOUSE IS BETTER
I have to say this visit was excellent. The staff was very friendly and professional. Equally important, I had a large group order and it was ready on time for pickup. Angie (the Manager) was extremely helpful in helping me with this large breakfast order. We made our Holiday breakfast a success. Thank you Angie and I thank your staff.
