I was in Charleston for the day and on my way out of town, I stopped at Ye ole fashioned in Summerville. Many staff just hanging out. There was an older lady spouting out orders of what staff should be doing, but no one was paying her any attention. Staff sitting by the front counter counting their money and chatting it up. Finally, someone noticed me and came over to cash register to take my order. I ordered my usual, BLT with a drink. It was the saddest BLT ever. It's suppose to come with 10 pieces of bacon, lettuce and tomato on 3 pieces of toast, but not this time, so no tip. The dining room was a mess, one clean table available and floor was a pigsty. This chain has really gone down hill. People waiting to have their orders taken, line out the door and $ walking out the door. Owners need to come and see for themselves. This is what happens when you let kids run your business...
Love the ice cream and would go back, but service that afternoon was quite slow. I was not acknowledged for a good 2 minutes standing to be waited on, I was only one there! Multiple employees walked by without a look in my direction. Finally a women taking phone orders said she would be with me as soon as she was done filling a phone order. More time went by, same thing. Employees walked around without acknowledging me. Finally the woman who said she would help me when she was done with orders asked another employee for help at the counter, after she saw a family of 4 walk in. The girl who scooped my ice cream and making my shake seemed to be having a real hard time scooping and using the blender, I think because the ice cream was so frozen she didn't have the strength. I noticed (because I had nothing else to do waiting so long) when she opened the refrigerator to get the milk for my shake it was left open for what I thought to be too long. The employee helping the family of 4 after me seemed to not care too much, no enthusiasm at all as the customer was asking her questions. All I can say is if you are short staff say so and acknowledge your customers and if your having a bad day don't let your customers know it.
This was always a favorite, but something has changed. This was the second bad experience I have had. A week ago I did a pickup order, in person, and the staff was terribly rude. I wrote it off as a bad day. Everyone has one.Today was an Uber Eats order. It took, IMHO, a long time to prepare. When it arrived every item was stone cold, including the burnt onion rings. The milkshakes were melted and there were no sauces or even straws for the shakes. I tracked the order, so I do not believe it to be a driver issue. Very disappointed ?In answer to the owners response: I tried to reach a manager but no one ever answered the phone.
We have ordered delivery through Uber Eats numerous times after moving to the area, and were always very satisfied with our orders. We dined in for the first time a couple weeks back and the experience was just as good. Friendly workers and they took care to get every order for our large party correct. I highly recommend this place. They have a Vegan menu and we love the options they have for plant based patrons. Thanks for having tasty options that are also cruelty free ❤️I would also add they have a totally separate grill for all vegan food to be prepared on. So no need to worry about mixups.
Love this place, ice cream is plentiful, it is a little weird they have two scoops size, and then they have two large scoops size.
My husband and I used to love coming here for ice cream and milk shakes but unfortunately the last few visits have not been great. A milkshake was brought out to our car and was actually more like soup. And prior to that we waited for our ice cream for 25 minutes. It must have sat on the counter for most of that time because it was virtually melted when we got it. Hoping it was just a fluke for those visits!
Do not recommend. After a 40 minute wait on our food, the items we received were not even fixed as described by the server at the drive thru who also did not know the menu when questions about what was being ordered in detail before ordering. $70 later and a lot of wasted food.
The food was delicious and in huge portions. The ice cream was delicious but I asked for no whipped topping but I was given it anyway
It was very busy when we went but the staff more quickly. The food was made fresh, our bun was burnt but overall the food was good. I would go again.
The ice-cream is AH-Mazing! Great service and good burgers. Worth the price.
