We had a late mother's day dinner, there was 9 of us. The chef wasn't all that social. He kept bring out his slip to see who got what, numerous times. Those who ordered Xtra veggies, didn't get them and management acted like it was a big deal to add them on,so we just canceledthem. The cook continues to look at the his sheet and still got orders wrong. He had to go to the back on 3 or 4 times to get stuff. When he was serving the rice he had it all over the table top(NOT the grill top)never once tried to clean it up and it was cooked to long. I was to get rare steak but it was not. We've been here before and the meal was great except this time we were disappointed. Not sure if I will return. The waitress was here and there. My son paid for the whole meal(9 of us) giving thanks to all the great women in his life. What a disappointment.
Wait was quoted 45. It was right at an hour. No biggie. Once we were sat we proceeded to wait another hour waiting on our hibachi chef. The server and hostesses were great and even the hibachi chef was great. My complaint is we arrived at 7pm was sat at 8pm and didn't get fed until 920pm. That's a little ridiculous on time management. So the wait was not 45 minutes, you should have just said 2 hours. We sat at the bar while waiting and the bartender was great! Also a few sanitary things noted was several of the staff were setting the serving trays on the hot grills and they were visibly melting. The bottoms of those trays are notoriously gross and really should be set on a cooking surface.Unfortunately, this was the second bad experience I have had at this location.
5 stars all around.Service 5Experience 5Food 5Appearance 5Will definitely be returning.
Let me start this by saying my child is autistic with sensory issues as well as diabetic which makes going out to restaurants incredibly difficult. We arrive with a party of 10 at 540pm for his birthday. Told it should be an hour or less. 7pm comes and we ask for an update and are told soon… more time goes by and my child is starting to become unsettled. If you’re familiar with children in general this should come as no surprise. Well now his BG is low and and a meltdown is on the way. All the while we’ve suggested we can go elsewhere but this is the only choice he was sticking with, again if you’re familiar with ASD changes are a no-go. We are finally seated around 9pm. You’re probably wondering at this point why it’s 5 stars… our chef JuJu (the spelling is probably wrong) was AMAZING. We had a party of diverse dietary needs and he made our experience incredible! From insisting to make separate fried rice for the vegetarian in our party, to the small details of him noticing my child’s sensory issues when he got his steak and started to pick it apart and the smile fall from his face. Juju went to personally pick out a new steak, which we repeatedly told him he didn’t need to, to get my son a piece which he could enjoy saying ITS YOUR BIRTHDAY! THEN he went and got him a brand new clean plate to put it on instead of just putting it on the original plate. The fact that he took to time to do something like that, as a special needs parent, means more than any wait time. He was funny, kind, entertaining, and absolutely made his night one of the most memorable birthdays he has had in years.
Came from Columbia to celebrate with my niece for her birthday tonight. Got up and went to the other side of the table to tube feed my son whose special needs. Chef had already started cooking when I got up even interacted with me before getting up. But because I wasn’t sitting down he said I would have to go to another table and eat because he didn’t get my order that I placed before he even came over there and that he was reading off a paper. He not only saw what I was doing but came to the side I was on and said to go to another table as I was tube feeding my son. The chef my niece had at her table was wonderful and he kept them entertained. He even offer to cook my food because he even saw that I was tube feeding my son. He also saw that my son was enjoying the fire and did it again. And I really appreciate that. BUT I WILLNOT BE COMING BACK TO THIS PLACE‼️
Went there tonight to celebrate our son’s 12th birthday. We were hopeful when we were seated 15 minutes before our “preferred seating” time slot but it quickly went down hill from there. We were seated at 530 and left at 645 after no chef showed up. Yes we had our drinks/soup/salad timely but after a chef went to a table that was sat well after us we left. We have always loved going to Wasabi but this was a terrible experience.
Great show of grilling! We had a wonderful chef; plenty of food! Very good experience!
We had the absolutely worse experience. We were told the wait would be an hour and a half. 2 and a half hours later we were told we were the next table. Then another party screamed louder and they were given our table. We were finally sat down. We were a party of 5. They say us with a party of 8 at a table that set 10. Then the chef completely played to them literally didn't even acknowledge the kids on our side. Definitely will never go back. Save yourself the frustration and go to ANY of the others!
Wait time to be seated is ridiculous - this has been an ongoing problem since the day that they opened! Had Resy Reservations for 6:15PM (call ahead - made two weeks in advance), we arrived at 6:05 and was finally seated at 7:42PM!! Hostess staff was handling customers checking in, seating and to go orders - way over worked and hence downright rude! Our waitress had other tables that she was finishing up on so our soups and salads took about 10 minutes to be served - understandable to an extent with COVID employee shortages. Our Chef was excellent and he saved the kept the evening from being a total failure!! On a positive note my mother is an 89 yo diabetic - she was in need of food during our wait. The bartender was kind enough to offer her a bowl of fried rice to hold her over!! If you go, go with patience as you will need it!!
First off, I see some negative reviews based on benign short staffed. I see the signs on the front door, and the front counter asking to be courteous due to short staff situation. That being said, Tuesday night, place is hopping and great service. I wanted Sashimi and did not see anything hit the deluxe plate, the waitress told me to order any sushi and they would make it sashimi for $1 more. Perfect, glad I stopped by.
