We were visiting friends in Summerville in South Carolina for the first time. This was the first restaurant we visited. We absolutely loved it! It had a laid back vibe, good service, and great food at an extremely reasonable price! We had the delicious pork belly mac and cheese, fabulous stuffed fried squash blossoms, and a fabulous salad with salmon tossed with sweet tea vinaigrette. Their pecan pie is to die for!! We enjoyed it so much we returned the next day for dessert and after dinner cocktails.
Overall great atmosphere. Upstairs has it’s own bar. Classic old fashion feeling place. Service is great. Wings suck!They really need to work on there dressing’s. There dressings are very running and not enough flavor. Blue cheese dressing is horrible.
Fake chicken meat in sandwich, soggy fries, tasteless 15$ calamari dish. Expensive less then desirable food and they think is great!
We have been to the Icehouse many times since relocating to Summerville, SC. The food and Service have always been great. We definitely will be back!
We were staying in a hotel waiting to move into our new home. Found The Icehouse, and so glad we did. Very cute and unique inside. We sat at a high top in the lounge, and enjoyed it very much. I had a chicken pasta dish…my husband had steak. Everything was excellent, as well as the service. Just wonderful….we will make this a regular for a dinner out.
Good atmosphere and friendly staff! The wait time was reasonable for a Saturday evening…. 15-20 minutes. With the ratings and awards...the expectations are is raised significantly...My meal ranked average to below average. My wife and I both ordered the fried shrimp with side’s. The shrimp did not appear to be hand breaded more like frozen and they were a bit rubbery. We also had fries, collards and squash. If you’re are charging top dollar it should be 100% fresh. I’m sorry to say but I’ve had the same quality at popular fast food restaurants. I definitely would give it a second chance though.
Really enjoyed this place. Great food! Only complaint for me were the steps and split level type design. Looks awesome hard to navigate on crutches. Could only imagine in a wheel chair since the restrooms appears to be up 3 or 4 steps.We were there on Wed for the fried pork chop special and it was the best restaurant chop I've ever had.
The food was excellent with a very friendly atmosphere. The food was freshly prepared according to order and came out hot and fresh. Avery pleasant experience for all the family.
Highly recommend the soft shell crab, it was really good along with the grits and collards. My fiancé got the country fried steak with red rice and Mac & cheese and he really enjoyed it as well.
Found myself in Summerville today & remembered friends had recommended this place. Pretty cool location & atmosphere. Definitely a place where the locals go since it’s not right on 17. Highly recommend the Ham & Brie sandwich. Service was good. Will definitely return!
