The shrimp gnocchi is outstanding. Easily the best gnocchi I have ever had. They practically melt in your mouth, they are so tender and cloud like. Easily the star of the show. My husband had the catfish and loved it, but he polished off the rest of the gnocchi that I couldn't finish (generous portions) and said it was amazing and wished he had gotten that as well. The fried green tomatoes where a delicious starter, and their dipping sauce was tasty. I would highly recommend this little gem of a restaurant.
The food, atmosphere, and service is the best. You won't go wrong on any item on this menu. Ty for a wonderful evening and meal, Sweetwater!
Our first time here and we loved the food and ambiance. I ordered the vegan raviolis, which came with a tasty side salad. Others in our party had the salads, and they were delicious, with enough leftovers for another meal. And our son had the chicken fingers with fries. There's plenty of seating inside, but also a quaint, enclosed patio with a few tables and chairs for outside seating as well. Neat location in the heart of downtown Summerville.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options Parking: Off street parking lot is best
Just walking around beautiful Summerville, SC and asked if 123 was still open. I arrived at 2:45 and they said they close at 3. I’m a business owner myself and coming in at the last minute is always okay with me - however I don’t own a restaurant where they have to cleanup and put away food before they can actually go home.Chris the owner was outside working with his staff and encouraged me to step inside, saying that they seat until 3 on Sundays.Reluctantly and with permission of each staff member that I spoke with to place a food order as they are closing I sat down.I spoke with no less than 4 people and everyone of them echoed what Chris the owner said. Relationship come first at this pleasant restaurant. They treated me like I was welcomed into their home.I ate their eggs Benedict, with an outstanding buttery sauce and fresh avocado. Now I’m from Texas. We get great avocados and have great salsa. This sauce didn’t need a thing more but I can’t help myself. More spice the better. Chelsea brought me 3 local salsas to try and her recommendation was my favorite. These people are good. They had no problem at the end I of their shift giving this solo diner their time and conversation. Will absolutely come back with friends should we be in Summerville again soon. I spent a little more as I ordered a tea and a brew. Thank you Sweetwater, Chris and Chelsea.
We made reservations for 6 people on Thursday, June 30th for Friday, July 1st at 7. We arrived at 6:55 and and was told the only available table was outside under the shelter. Due to the rain and humidity, we didn't want to sit outside. When I made the reservation, they didn't even ask me if I wanted inside or outside. We waited with 2 couples from West Ashley until 8:15. We finally chose to leave the restaurant and go home. Very disappointed. Sweetwater should have asked me on the 30th if I wanted to sit our party inside or outside for Friday night, and not assume that we would be fine with that. We were told at 7 it would be 30 minutes. 30 minutes turned into an hour. By 8:15 we left the restaurant.
We stopped here because we’re total tourists and wanted some sweet tea while we were in the town that says it’s the birthplace of sweet tea. We went mid afternoon on a Thursday so it wasn’t crowded, we were greeted nicely, and seated immediately. We got sweet tea, fried okra, and fried green tomatoes. All of it was good but that truly was the best fried okra I’ve ever had. The waitress was excellent and very nice. The prices were reasonable. The building was really nice. If you’re in town, give this place a try.
I had the cheeseburger with fries....it was huge and was cooked perfectly (medium is perfect for me!). I also had a caramel latte that was delicious. The service was great, the ambiance was perfect, and the food was delicious. I stopped in after the farmers market so it was a little busy, but as a single diner there was no wait for the bar. I highly recommend and will definitely be back myself to explore more of the menu!
Place was marginally busy, but our party of 4 waited about 15 minutes just for drinks. We weren’t acknowledged for the first 10 minutes and when the bartender took our order, she seemed quite disturbed that we ordered 4 mojitos. After receiving them, I see why she was so upset. Apparently she has never made them before. By far the worst mojito any of us ever had. Not to mention 4 of the worst mojitos ever were $40, and the accompanying photo was the amount we received before having 1 sip.
Stopped in here on a Monday morning and it was delicious. The Island Mimosa was very good. Heads up, the door/entrance is on the side of the building.
It was my first time. The hostess and servers are very friendly and kind. The Mango Chutney pecan crusted chicken was delicious. The lobster ravioli was very tasty but didn't contain any lobster meat. The spinach and collard sides were very bland. The Sweetwater dessert was not really good, It seemed like pudding on a hard dry cookie. The cream brulee was good. I would say it's worth trying just plan another location for dessert.
