Cool vibe in the bar area. A bit bummed they had a really small wine option (where are the Sauvignon Blanc fans??) but I did find a fresh vodka option and hubby had an IPA. Our bartender was new but really friendly. The hot Spinach dip was a perfect starter and the Mega Meaty was pretty good. Not sure if they make their marinara from scratch, but I think the pizza could use a bit of a kick to it. I would imagine this place is hoppin’ for fall football games. We sat at the bar and I can say they were FLOODED with to go orders the entire time we were there on a Monday night.
Sat outside because of the puppy. Flying insects takes a little getting use to. Great Steel City Pizza. Service was adequate for late night (9:10pm) on a Saturday.
First time ever trying steel city and great first impressions! The lasagna was delicious and my pizza was even better. I really like the bite on the crust and the way it tastes. Satisfied customer ??
Probably one of the most inconsistent places I’ve ever been to. I’ve had pizza there where it was super good and can’t wait to go back, and the next time I’ll order the same exact thing and it will be completely different. Recently I ordered a new pizza from my usual. Liked it a lot & decided to try it again. Absolute polar opposite. Almost no cheese, cheap on veggies besides spinach and I paid extra for feta. Could I borrow a microscope so I can find the feta on this pizza? Also this time around it’s super spicy somehow and there was no spice last time. Giving up trying with them ??
I saw other ratings, not so nice, but, I had to try it myself. This place was excellent! We had, party of 10, mind you, the spinach dip, the Buffalo chicken dip, and the white cheddar curds for apps. Very tasty! Pepperoni pizza....wow. the special, cheeseburger, meat lovers pizzas. Can't say enough good things. Excellent crust too!! Please stop here and eat! You won't be disappointed! Staff was way more accommodating than they had to be!! We will be back! You guys rock!!
Went there for the first time tonight with my husband. I never really complain since I work in the food industry. Food was okay nothing really blew me away. What bothered me was we ordered the chicken wings. One bite into our wings and I find that it’s undercooked. We brought it to the servers attention. Most places will take the order back and redo it or cook it longer. I found it very odd that she took my plate with the wing to “show her manager” to see what she wants to do about it. She then came back to tell us that they will remake the single wing leaving us to hunt through our food to make sure it’s cooked.The manager never came out to speak with us or anything. We’re really understanding people but between the response and what seemed like an insincere apology I probably won’t be going back.
Former employee and really enjoyed working for this place. Ate there the other night and got awesome service and great food!!! They were slammed And I still got awesome pizza and great drinks!!!! Hats off to manager T, and the crew did a great job.
Got 3 large pizza's for $80 minus the tip... At that price point I was expecting it to be amazing and it was very average. Just trying to be fair, I would go back but it's definitely NOT my favorite.
I've recently been working at Steel City Pizza Co. For the last few months and one thing I can tell you is THEY ARE THE MOST RACIST COMPANY I'VE EVER WORKED FOR IN MY LIFE. Since I've been there I've seen nothing but discrimination to my black co-workers or problems with the management team concerning my black co-workers. I've never seen racism so much in plain sight that it literally sickens me. The general manager of the company "Joel" sat me down for a meeting after I was sent home by another kitchen manager name "Tim" simply because I told a server I couldn't give her an order without a ticket being ring in. Well in that interview he asked me, "Do I think Tim is racist?" I said I don't know but I feel like he tends to pick with me a lot. He then told me that he believes Tim is racist and has seen it with his own eyes. Which had me thinking if you're a GM and you feel as though your KM is racist why would you condone that let alone let one of your employees know ? anyways, days go by and I'm scheduled to work a volume shift and it's now time for me to go . At steel city pizza we're permitted to a $12 meal each shift , so I decided to make a spinach salad. Let me inform you that our salads are $6-$7 at most. So next morning I receive a phone call from my GM Joel & he informed me that Tim accused me of stealing food . It honestly caught me off guard because all I remember having was a salad as an employee meal. So he then ask me, "did you take anything last night?" I told him the only thing I took was my usual employee meal which was a spinach salad . He then ask "did you ring it in?" I told him I simply forgot it was a mistake on my part I'll just ring it up for my meal for today or pay if I have to. He then told me , " That's considered theft and we can not tolerate that here I'm sorry I'm going to have to let you go." At that point I wasn't angry or frustrated more shocked and offended because that shows me in the south no matter how hard a black man works for a position in this world we will always be treated differently by these white people. They will set us up , use us , & even kill us if it's to the best of their benefits. This needs to be heard in stopped in the south we get taken advantage of and just because it's a free at will state they don't need explanations for the things they do.
For having pizza in the name we kind of expect great pizza. We had 3 different pizzas this visit. The cheese with balsamic, the buffalo chicken and the supreme type one. Not a fan of the first 2. The cheese was hard, it needed more balsamic and the tomatoes were just in the middle of one side. The buffalo chicken was also dry, and didnt taste much like buffalo sauce, only chicken and some cheese. The supreme type one was better. Lots of toppings. The hot wings are not hot and the sweet heat is sweet but not hot. We have had them undercooked before and overcooked before so just asking for double fry just dries them out. They have a great philly though and the chicken pasta is really good too. Those are the saving grace.
