Fresh donuts and exceptional customer service.

We've always gone to Halls downtown for events and when people visit, but I was late setting up a reservation this time and they were booked, so we gave the Nexton location a try. Fantastic! Food was some of the best we've had any visit to Halls, it was a lot quieter and more spread out and relaxed. Plus plenty of parking. Nexton is about a 10 minute further drive, and if anyone was going for their first time I'd absolutely send them downtown for the "full Halls experience", but we'll honestly probably book at Nexton from now on for our events and dinners. Super convenient and just as tasty!

So disappointing. When you spend $800+ for dinner you have expectations. When you have eaten at Halls in Charleston you have experienced the highest level of service. At Nexton you have neither. Bland overcooked seafood tower ( lobster super dry), pork chop was sent back twice and still couldn’t get it to medium. The tomahawk was bland, as was the Kansas City strip (gristly and chewy). They both needed seasoning. My wife had the the Buffalo which was the best cut on the table. I could go on even the “cookie in a skillet” needed some work. The icing on the cake was 4 shots Fireball as a “sorry”. I am not 21 and was drinking a $200.00 bottle of wine a shot of that was not going to mix well with that. Anyway the staff need to spend 2 weeks downtown and relearn what makes Halls amazing.

Nice newer shop. I am in search of rare unique and hard to find plants and vegatation. Big box stores seem tp have all the same run of mill items.

I struggled on whether to go with a 3 or a 4, moreso whether or not to go again before making a decision. For 4 years my boss and colleagues(travel industry) have been telling me that Halls is a must, bragging about the experience that they're known for. While it was good, it wasn't what I expected, nor was it what I have come to experience at many other Charleston area restaurants. While we were greeted very well all the way to our seat, and the bartender did an incredible job checking in on us at our table, our actual waitress Danielle was too busy with the couple next to us that we found ourselves making eye contact with Will whenever something was needed. The crab cake was by far the most unpleasant part of the meal, extremely oily and basically fell apart after sticking the fork in it only once. NEVER could I recommend an $18 crab cake, literally 1 small soggy mess whose greatest appeal is the corn salsa. The 12 ounce filet and the sides were much what I expected for the price, what wasn't quite up to my expectations was the overall table service. Having gone to Melfi's, SNOB, Different Pointe of View(Phoenix), Massa's(St Louis), and other great eateries all over the country I came to Halls with the expectation that a 5 star experience would match the 5 star pricing. Sadly it was a 3 star experience, 4 and 5 star food(with the exception of the no star crab cake) and 5 star pricing.

Full of a variety of plants and pots. Plants are healthy and they have various sizes and types of plants. You can also get some that are already planted into one of their awesome pots!! Plant lovers need to check it out!!

Pretty cool little shop. Get some fancy coffee and and a new house plant. Try the poptarts!!

We love eating at Halls Chophouse. We loved it so much we ate here twice during our recent trip to Charleston. They offer a wide variety of steaks. You can get Wagyu, wet-aged, dry-aged. It simply is one of the best steakhouse to be found anywhere. We love the Nexton location because it has availability when the other location on King Street does not. During our recent lunch visit, our waitress was Sarah and she was wonderful. During our visit on Friday night our waitress was Shiann. She was knowledgeable and friendly. The staff here is properly trained. When you mix great food with friendly, well-trained staff you get an award winning dining experience like Halls.

Very disappointing on several fronts. 1st off we were seated on the porch which we accepted. However, you would think they would have had the sense to lower screens as the flies were horrific! One flew into my wine and countless others attacked our food constantly. I did make this reservation, in so doing I was asked "is this a special occasion" I answered yes, our Grand Daughters Graduation. She replied I'll make a note. I really do not know why she asked as they never congratulated her with even a cupcake. Lastly, the food. My wife's Salmon was excellent. My Grand daughter's Chicken was good. My Ribeye was suppose to be medium rare, red throughout, hot center unfortunately not even close. It was more rare purplish, cool center not juicy as a result. I could have done this myself. I don't mind paying $54 for the steak however I expected to be wowed sadly, not the case. In case you're wondering I do not send food back ever. Also, 25% of the steak was all fat and inedible! I have eaten many times at Abe & Louies Capital Grille etc. Always got what I paid for. Not here, bad atmosphere, unsanitary conditions (Flies). FYI: this is not a waitstaff problem. It is the establishments lack of caring for their customers experience and well being. To the management.... Today we don't just write comments we blog about it as well. And oh yes, you should drop asking if it's a special occasion as you don't act on it in any way. So, why ask? All I ask is to give me what I paid you for.

Anniversary dinner. Unfortunately, didn’t make reservations early enough. Had to take high top in bar. Service was attentive. Food was extraordinary. Had a bone-in filet, Caesar salad and asparagus. All were done to perfection. No room for dessert. Great wine list.
