The food and atmosphere are both absolutely amazing! We picked Oscars for our anniversary dinner and it did not disappoint. It is a very nice restaurant with the most wonderful wait staff. Mary was the best! She is funny and sweet, very attentive and on her job! Every time she came to the table she had something witty to say and it made our night! The food was great but having her as our server definitely made our dining experience even better! …. The food! Definitely get the calamari for an app! I had never had it before neither had our 3 teenagers and they LOVED IT! Also, the she crab soup is delicious!! You truly can’t go wrong with anything on this menu! Pick something and try it!
We had just closed on our new home, and decided we needed to treat ourselves after all the stress. Oscars was recommended by our hotel, and they take reservations. We were seated right away in a booth toward the back. When we go again we will probably ask for something not so isolated. I had shrimp ngr
The food was REALLY GOOD, but the drinks were lacking. Our waiter Kelvin(I believe) was top notch! We really enjoyed his attentiveness, though he was managing 5 tables by himself. I had the Wed special, which was delicious and not over cooked.Apparently, they only give military discounts on Thursdays...That was new for me to hear that from any restaurant.
The food was excellent. Ate here with my wife, we both ordered the chicken burrito and she could not finish her’s. The portions are ample. This could be one of those places that you go to celebrate special occasions.. The desk clerk at our nearby motel recommended Oscars.
So, not many photos on this trip. But we ordered the steak, the Seafood Pasta, the seafood burrito. She crab soup. The filet salad. Shrimp dinner. I'll say, Oscar's is normally a go to for me. But this has been my second visit that my meals have been delivered to our table lukewarm. The only meal that was hot was the seafood burrito. And I must say it's definitely worth a try. Will I go back? Yes. Because it's not the normal service that I'm used to receiving. I will be back to let you all know if they got a 3rd strike with me. Or if it's now redeemed.
Enjoyed our first visit. Food was great as well as the service. Nice location that is easy to find and get to.
We heard a lot of great reviews about this restaurant but I would not call this restaurant as a upscale place. Our first impression was not to great either, the hostesses greeted us and told us we will have to wait until our reservation time which was 7:15pm we said ok and took a seat to wait meanwhile another couple came in right after us and had the same time frame for there reservation. So while we were waiting there was a couple of walk ins which were seated promptly. ok I was still waiting then the couple who came in after us was told there table was ready. Really? We came in before them. So we were finally seated but instead of a nice cozy booth or table we were seated in the porch area surrounded by large group of loud talking people. So we were greeted by our waiter. He was nice, so we proceeded to order. We ordered the soup as a appetiser, I had the french onion soup and my husband had the she crab soup. My soup was good and enjoyable, my husband's soup had a weird taste almost too much sherry in it and gritty. Next I had the Surf and turf and I ordered my steak med rare to med and my husband had the the Lobster Trio with his steak cooked the same as mine. Well when our order came the food looked good. But we we started to eat it, another story. Our steaks were too rare and my shrimp was under seasoned and my scallops were good. my husband shrimp scampi had too much lemon in it, his steak was extremely rare also his Lobster was undercooked with no seasoning on it. Our potatoes were very lumpy. All in all a very disappointing dinner. Our waiter was nice enough to bring us a dessert for our 34th anniversary. But I doubt we will go back to this restaurant.
Wonderful food and service. We were seated promptly at the time of our reservation. Tom, our server, was excellent and fun. It was my wife's birthday and the entire staff made it a special night. When we checked in, the hostesses wished my wife a happy birthday: this was much appreciated. We talked about how Oscars reminded us of dining in New Orleans on our honeymoon many years ago. It was a quality experience. We highly recommend!
My wife and I were in the area visiting family and got one night out together. Summerville has lots of options and we did not have a particular desire in terms of cuisine type and it looked like Oscar’s had lots of good options so we went for it. I had steak my wife had linguine in a seafood cream sauce. They had comfortable booths, excellent staff - attentive but they also give you space to relax and talk without interruption. A great balance. The steak was very good — will definitely go back!
Went to Oscar’s with friends. We arrived early. The dining room doesn’t open until 5:00 pm so we went to the bar to wait. They had good happy hour drink specials. We were seated a few minutes after our reservation time. Our waiter was friendly. We ordered fried green tomatoes, calamari, and stuffed mushrooms as appetizers. I ordered the Surf and Turf as my entree. I feel like the potatoes needed salt but the meat and seafood was flavorful. Overall, everything was delicious. The highlight of my meal was dessert. I ordered the Caramel Xango. It was amazing.
