We came for dinner without reservation and waited for 15 minutes which was fine. The outside of this restaurant was not attractive but not dirty just plain but the inside is pretty clean. The owner was so friendly and chatty and gave us the sample of their house sangria. She also used to be in the band and performed in famous hotel in Japan. She sang happy birthday song for one of the guest that had her birthday dinner there. We ordered agedashi tofu as our appetizer and it cooked to perfection and the house sauce was a great match for the tofu. Then we ordered the crispy pork with ginger pickle and it was so good! Nice flavor and consistency on the crispness. We highly recommend this dish. This place is known for their yakitori (skewer meat) so we ordered their tsukune chicken meatballs and chicken thigh with peanut sauce. The chicken meatballs were okay and the chicken thigh yakitori was cooked well but the peanut sauce is just a hint of peanut taste. I was expecting creamy peanut sauce instead of more soy sauce base. The shoyu ramen (shoyu based broth) was amazing! I recommend this ramen because the broth is delicious, flavorful, and perfectly cooked with nice ramen noodle, veggies, and soft boiled eggs. We can tell the broth is homemade. Goes the same with Nabeyaki udon broth and the thickness of the udon noodle. The only thing they need to improve is the shrimp tempura batter. It was not crunchy like usual tempura that we normally had at Japanese restaurant. Overall we recommend the food at Myles and June yakitori restaurant.
Thank you Myles and Jun for allowing us to host our daughters high school graduation dinner at your restaurant. My husband and I cannot express how special you made us feel as you welcomed our family and prepared our dinner. We enjoy the special touch you add to every experience when we come in and appreciate how you went above and beyond to provide our family and friends quality service. Our daughter Haley was especially thankful and excited to have the quality of care dedicated to her for her special day. Thank you MAMU and your team of hostesses and chefs for preparing an amazing experience! We will always continue to keep coming back.
Hidden gem in Summerville. Reservations are preferred but after a 15 minute wait they got us a table. Tables sit close but the atmosphere was v chill. The servers seemed a bit overwhelmed but the food was delicious. We loved everything we ordered & will definitely be back. If you’re ever in Summerville definitely check this place out! 9/10
The food was absolutely phenomenal, everything we ate and drank was so delicious, the steak was cooked to perfection. The saki sangria tasted like paradise. We found our new date night place.I definitely recommend having a reservation, but even those without it, still were accommodated fairly reasonably given how busy it was. The owner was walking around making sure everyone was taken care of and was singing, it was an awesome atmosphere
Been wanting to try for awhile so went for bday dinner. Make reservations. Excellent food, relaxed atmosphere, very friendly service. You can have a conversation quietly and still hear.
A friend took me to Myles and Jun for dinner last week, it's her favorite spot. I can see why. Set in a strip mall setting, you could easily drive by this restaurant. Staff are friendly and knowledgable about the many interesting menu items. As we perused the menu, one of the servers brought us tiny cups of their yummy Saki Sangria. Fruity and sweet, it was very tasty. Seemed to be a favorite of other diners, we opted for glasses of a nice Riesling wine. I ordered the Japanese curry shrimp. Definitely had a typical curry taste but is lighter in flavor. 6-8 nice size shrimp in the curry and veg mix sauce hit the spot. A bowl of broth was served first and the entree was served with rice of your choice and small salad. All delicious. Staff is attentive not overbearing. My friend says when she comes a little later to eat (our reservation was for 6pm), the owner breaks out in a song or 2. Definately recommend.
Great food made with care and loving family ran business.
First time here and the food was perfect and everyone was so friendly and inviting! Will definitely go back!
Wonderful experience eating & Dining with Myles & Jun...love their hospitality that they offer to you when come in to dine in their restaurant
TLDR: the food was excellent and our waitress Kaylana was amazing! We started our night wanting to slurp some big bowls of ramen in our sweats. Googling "ramen near me", Myles and Jun Yakitori was a top suggestion featuring pictures of decorative bowls of noodle soup. When we walked into the building though, we instantly noticed a bustling restaurant filled with well-dressed patrons, opposite from our lazy attire. Suddenly our run for noodles had turned into a full-on date night! The hostess who greeted us asked if we had a reservation, which we did not expect to need, but they happened to have a table open. Then Kaylana welcomed us with what can only be described as the most positive, upbeat, and enthusiastic attitude ever seen from waitstaff, one you can't help but smile for! She gave us a concise overview of the menu as well as alerted us to what the restaurant was out of. We looked over our options and placed an order for the Salmon Rice Balls for our appetizer, the Shoyu Ramen, and the Nabeyaki Udon. The Salmon Rice Balls set the bar high! Perfectly fried tempura encasing a sticky-rice core with bits of delicious salmon, sitting in a bath of spicy sweet-n-sour-like sauce.Soon after we finished wolfing down the Salmon Rice Balls, our noodle soups were brought to our table and boy did our eyes go wide! One taste each of our broths, and we were nodding approval and praising ourselves on a winning choice of dinner! We told Kaylana when she checked on us that our bowls were exemplary, to which she seemed to excitedly empathize with our own satisfaction. Our noodles sufficiently stuffed us, but a dessert menu item called Honey Toast had piqued our interest. We hesitated to make the order, being so full, so Kaylana suggested a half portion, to which we yielded. What came out was a stacked tower of sweet deliciousness - a thick piece of toasted bread topped with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, honey, and red bean ice cream. A perfect cap to to the meal!Myles and Jun Yakitori is titled with the "Best Ramen in South Carolina", and after our visit, I 150% believe it is well deserved.
