Came here for a ladies brunch. We got here a little before they opened and there was line. That's how you know they have good food. Five Loaves Cafe did not disappoint. Everything was delicious. The mimosas were tasty as well (we got Raspberry and Mango). We definitely will be coming back. What all we got: 2 different Shrimp and Grits (there was a special one came with dark gravy & mushrooms the other was with their Chorizo gravy), Southern Benny and I got the Vegetable Benny. ???

Great food. Sat on the porch. Savannah was a great server. Goat cheese gnocchi was phenomenal. Highly recommend eating here.

We use to come to five loaves all the time as our go to, but overtime quality has gone down. Our visit 5/6 has left us not wanting to return. First thing we noticed after we sat was the sticker mentioning a fee being attached to every bill. The amount was not specified nor were we informed by our server at any point. It’d be different if the servers informed us directly or even the amount listed but as far as you know, it could be 0.99 or $45. Then we ordered an appetizer with hush puppies. As you can see from the photo, they were burnt and too hard to eat. They did remove them from our check. Then we had the beef tips. They just were not up to par, over cooked meat and the noodles were very tough and chewy. My husband loved the chicken parmigiana and is so sad it was removed from the menu. Choices have become more limited and food quality has gone down. Service has never been a problem but I think the kitchen needs some extra training and attention.

This place was recommended to us and we loved everything about our meal.Joely was a charming and informative waitress who provided exceptional service for our very late lunch/early dinner.I adored the Shrimp Gnocchi and they were able to make it without beets and the beet reduction. Fresh, al dente green veggies (broccoli, kale, spinach and asparagus) with caramelized onions, shrimp and gnocchi. So tasty. My husband's Chicken Palliard was fantastic, again without the beets. The presentation was wonderful in both dishes. The focaccia served with the oil, balsamic vinegar and fresh spices was so delicious. We normally skip bread before meals, but this was so worth it.We enjoyed the house Merlot and a local brew with our meals on the porch. They had both fans and heaters to accommodate the weather.Keep in mind that it's a very loud location very close to an intersection with lots of traffic and a nearby fire station. Some extra landscaping or hanging baskets would make that porch setting even more charming.Plenty of seating inside this old charming house with a bar. Extremely popular place and crowds started arriving as we finished up our meal at 5:30.We look forward to going back for lunch and I highly recommend this place if you're near Summerville, SC.

Four of us recently ate at Five Loaves on Cedar St. in Summerville, SC, and every one of us was very pleased with the food and service. The menu seldom changes but the food is so good, it doesn't matter. I had fresh Atlantic salmon that was perfectly cooked, with a delicious Harissa sauce on Carolina Gold rice; my husband had good, spicy chili-soup and an excellent salad, another person had the rib-eye (perfect, she said), and the other had a great pasta dish. The other couple also said their martinis were great. The wine list is small, just fyi. Excellent, friendly service.

Love this place! We visited a couple of years ago when we were looking at the area to relocate. We thought it was okay. Fast forward to now and a friend suggested it and since we didn’t want to say no we tried it again. Big change since the first time. The atmosphere can’t be beat with the music playing and the decor. I love the vibe. The food was fabulous! Everyone loved their meals and we also ordered a chef’s special appetizer. We loved it so much we bought our daughter who was in town for a visit a few weeks later. This is our new go to place for a feel good meal.

First time was amazingly good with tasty food, served hot and comfortable. Second time was not as good -- warm food, stale corn bread and no table bread. My wifes sandwich, same as first time, had half the tuna as the first. Same time of visit, 7 days apart. My chicken was mediocre. Granddaughters pasta was warm at best. Service was great both times. Not sure if visit three is in our future?!

I have eaten here several times and is our favorite spot near Charleston. All their food is made in house and tastes great. It has a chill vibe and eating on the outside patio on a sunny early afternoon or evening is perfect. The staff has always been nice and the place is clean. Parking can get a little hairy because they only have a small lot so later in the day you might have to fight for a spot.

We went here when we had family in, including one who is a vegetarian. This restaurant suited their particular eating needs and it would be good if you were very specific about what you needed to eat. However, I felt like the menu and restaurant wasn’t the best food. Just not my cup of tea. I had the special, which was something with coffee glazed pork tenderloin. It left a lot to be desired. My wife had the BLT, which was the only thing on the menu that she was willing to try, but it was good. Not the best service I’ve ever had either.

In an old house with a large porch, there is both inside and outdoor seating. The focus of this wonderful little eatery, besides offering delicious foody things and fine southern hospitality, is on sourcing fresh local ingredients and reinforcing sustainable practices... from building materials to (get this) bio-degradable take-out utensils. It's a successful, non-snobby, "go green" approach, and they succeed on the menu offering side as well. Soup, sandwiches, pasta, and salads... and any 1/2 combination thereof... as you wish. There are many choices of wonderful, fresh baked breads for your sandwiches. Try the Ultimate BLT, Chicken Salad, or a non-classic Reuben (with turkey pastrami, and the usual fixings). The salad choices are creative, delicious, and presented artfully. The flavorful array of fresh soups made daily, just boggle the mind and tempt the taste-buds... like tomato-tarragon with crab, carrot and ginger, and Mexican Chicken Chile with Avocado & Cilantro!! Yes... there are even more choices! If you're thirsty, try the traditional Southern Sweet Tea, or choose from a nice selection of beer and wine. Go... enjoy!!
