0/5. This one star doesn’t count at all. Today, recently I haven’t been here in a while. (You wonder why) I haven’t looked at the food when I pulled off because I would’ve at least thought the hush puppies were soft. No. I didn’t check the food because I thought it was alright. So went home turns out to find the meal doesn’t look good at all and was very nasty. Well the hush puppies like I said, were very hard. Not soft as usual what’s going on? For a “come back in a while” experience should not be treated like this. DO BETTER.
Captain D's at 300 East Fifth North Street in Summerville Sc has awful customer service. I waited in the drive thru line for 20 minutes just to be told they were closed when It was my time to order. They said they had just closed. It was 8:07pm. It states online that they close at 9pm. I asked to still place my order since I had been waiting for so long and they refused to do so. I was met with a rude attitude and told to come back tomorrow when they reopened. This is poor customer service. They need to put a sign in the drive thru lane stating what time they close so customers do not waste their time. Very disappointed in this establishment.
+ 3-piece fish and chips was great.+ Location isn't far from the house.+ With limited staff, they managed a smile and politeness and didn't seem stress.- Drive-thru line was 15-20 min. wait. No dine-in.- Can get expensive.
There are far better places to go if you want decent fish and chips. The fish was heavily battered and tasteless. The butterfly shrimp were smashed discs that also had no flavor. The fries were terrible as well. I did order a side of oysters that were very small but actually tasted good. That keeps me from giving them one star. I don't recommend.
Sat in drive thru for over thirty minutes and got to window and got warm fish and cold fries. This is not the first time it happened here. I just don't understand how any of the food coming out should be cold. Very disappointed you have to ask for hot fries $16 wasted!
WARNING ⚠️ DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION in Summerville please! If you do, visit the restroom first and I guarantee you will run out of there without those fish and hush puppies. If you're willing to wait at least 25 minutes for your order those fish and pups will be over fried and nasty. My mother-in-law was disgusted with her plate. The fish, shrimp and okra were all fried way too long. Her Mac and cheese looked horrible and she said it was. I got chicken tenders with coleslaw and broccoli, luckily mine was edible. Been over 2 weeks since we have been there and she still talks about how awful it was. Go to the Moncks Corner location, awesome manager and staff with perfectly cooked food....also no 25 minute wait!
Inside was not crowded with people at lunchtime. My sister and I were able to have a nice quiet lunch and talk. Good lunch!
I usualy enjoy their food. They must not have has the right temp on the cooking. My fish, chicken and shrimp literally were dripping of cooking grease or oil. It was so bad I was sick into the next day.
Went to get a nice lunch. Drive threw was backed up so I decided to go inside. Big mistake! I wanted 20 minutes for my food. The drive threw went much faster. Food was fair. Fried fish is a lot smaller now days.
This was the first time I have ever eaten from Captain D's and had an allergic reaction. My whole mouth swell up. Including my tongue and lips. My mom's while we while we were out on Saturday says, let's go get something to eat from Captain Dr's,? I gave her this look! Like! Are you serious? Go by yourself...I'm Good!
