Beautiful restaurant, quite busy, highly attentive service, quick food preparation and delivery, great chips and good, yet salty, salsa (both complimentary). I'm taking a single point off of an otherwise perfectly wonderful dining experience for two reasons:1. The steak enchilada had fatty/chewy pieces, evidence of a low quality ingredient, even though the overall flavor was excellent2. Maybe I'm spoiled, but the charro beans were overseasoned and the sausage in them seemed like hotdogs, another possible ingredient quality issue.Otherwise, I really loved Agaves Cantina and still do strongly recommend it.
I think the owners really read the reviews. Servers have improved a 100% . There's someone walking around and asking how things are doing. Service is great and food is great as always. Happy to come back.*Food is really good, but service is not great. Servers are not rude, but they are not friendly (like they don't want to serve you) so we just ate and left... it didn't feel like staying for drinks even though the place is very nice. We wanted to be seated outside (weekend around 3 pm), but were told that it was dirty and it would take them around an hour to get it ready since they were busy doing something else.We will give it another try in the future since the food was worth it.
I enjoyed the agave vegetable bowl. Very tasty. The service was not that good. Drinks were not filled as often as they should have been and the chips were not refilled for a while after the first bowls were gone. A lot of the staff were in the corner on there phones. The restraint was clean. Was not overly impressed after several times going there. Just go for convenience when we go now. Service is very important!

The food was actually pretty good. The portions are good. Pricing is great. My classic margarita grande felt like it had 1 shot of tequila in it and all juice. Service is fair. The hostess could be happier. Decent place but not the best.
The Shrimp tacos with the Chipotle sauce is pretty good. The tacos were also good, make sure you preference ground beef vs shredded beef. Now when it came to the Queso Fundido I was not a fan. The cheese sauce is a thick consistency but the beef was a no. It seemed like it was missing flavor. The fajitas were good as they use fresh vegetables. The margaritas are weak.... the reason for the lost star. I even added Herradura Anejo to one and it was still a no go. Blue Tequila is the reigning champ on Margaritas for me. All in all, I would go back. Definitely worth a try. Oh and it's a no on the seafood burrito......
Much work needs to be done here. I wanted to try this New restaurant in the Cane Bay area. We stopped by on Saturday for Dinner. We seat on the patio. They prefer you to use the digital menu but all the sides are cut off. We order two Margaritas, a regular and a Texas Margarita at $9.50 each. A waitress delivering the drinks, she had no idea which one was which and contrary to how the Texas margarita (also known as a Cadillac Margarita) the Grand Marnier shot was supposed to be on the side but suppose it was made with the shot inside. I could not test the difference between the two. The Food-1 Agave Shrimp, the sides where supposed to be salad and beans, we got rice and salad. The shrimp's come on a white sauce, I will rate the shrimp's as a 4 starts, price at $15.75.2- The Carnitas price at $14.50, with beans and rice. I will rate this dish a 2 star. Here is the problem: Nothing tasted like Mexican or Tex-Mex food. The rice and beans are tasteless. The sauce for the chips tested like tomato sauce. They don't asked you if you want hot sauce and there is no salt and pepper on the tables. I asked one of the employees for sauce and was told to ask my server.The patio has several sewer covers (like the ones you see on the streets. I was unfortunately to seat by one of them. So, from time to time you are hit with the smell of sewer. ( they really need to do something about this).The restaurant is nicely decorated and it could be a nice place if they can get the food, the sewer and the bartender to step it up.
My wife and I finally tried this new spot. Overall I was very impressed. The decor was amazing, food was delicious and the prices are very fair for the portions you receive. We will definitely make this our Friday spot now.
Awesome service and great tasting food! My husband loved the calamari. Oh and the decor is super cute! We will return.
When this place opened me and my family thoroughly enjoyed eating here, always had an amazing experience. Our experience last night will be our last, when ordering our server had no knowledge of anything on the menu, another waitress finally gave us an actual menu so we could see the full details of the dishes. I asked for no peppers, onions or mushrooms. When my dish arrived it was full of them. When I told the waiter I would rather change it out for something else he acted like he couldn’t do that without the manager so he went and got him. The manager with an attitude agreed and the second meal was brought out shortly after. I asked for the dish I always get to make things quick and easy for everyone. What they brought out was sloppy and very unappealing (mind you I had gotten this plenty times before) I was willing to overlook it and ask for some hot sauce and cheese which never came to the table nor did our waiter! The manager finally brought our bill and by this point I was over the entire experience so I asked for my meal to be removed from the bill meaning I never touched either dish that was brought out for me. The manager straight up told me “I’m not going to throw 2 dishes away just because you don’t want them, there is nothing wrong with it. You need to pay for this even if you don’t take it”! I wasn’t going to argue so I told him don’t worry about it and I paid full price for everything even the dish I didn’t touch!! Unfortunately my family and I will not be returning, due to how rude and unprofessional the manager is!!! They definitely need to look into getting another manager asap.
