So I went in and no one greeted me. The cook can from around the counter and took my order. Waitresses and other employees looked over me standing there. The bar tender took my money and laid my change on the counter like I was contagious. After my food was ready, the cook had to come around the counter and give me my food. I called back and made a customer service complaint, the owner was very nice and offered a gift card and I declined. This still is bothering me because prejudice still exits and we cannot be blind to the fact that some people will always have it in them. I went to sleep with this on my mind and I can’t shake the bad experience. God have mercy on your people and let us open our minds to love and not color and hatred. This bothered me so bad I’m still upset.
Had a delicious dinner at this wonderful restaurant Saturday night. Waiter was good plus they all worked together. The restaurant was full but excellent service and food. Highly recommend .
Very unimpressive . Ambiance is incredibly tired and weak . Took my 81 year old father for his birthday last night , and this morning 4 out of the six with sick stomach and two are throwing up . Place needs an entire re-do if you ask me . In addition feels like it’s 1975 in there. Food - no good IMO. Call it a Greek place and have no authentic Greek dishes ! Meet and two ! Lol . That’s not Greek my friends . Poor poor place . Our waitress was good . I will say that . She was a solid 4+ , very good . Good luck .
We went to Basil's on the Westside for our blind date 33 years ago! We have returned countless times over the years. They never disappoint! Always delicious, hot food an amazing cocktails. Highly recommend!! I get the peppercorn steak and Todd gets the tips. Done to perfection!
Very good food. Just a little pricey bit well worth it. Didn't know that they close the kitchen at 8:30 pm and we had a take out order to place after we finished our dinner. Thankfully they were able to make that order even though the kitchen was technically closed at that time. They were so great to have made our order then. Thank you so much to all the employees there for doing that, they were so sweet.
Excellent good and plenty of it. Highly recommend. I think our wait person was tired as she was not overly talkative and all business without a lot of smiles.
Our entrance greeting was without a smile or a hello ...just got two menu's and put on the table and then she pointed at the table...they were busy, it is a gem of a hole in the wall restaurant tho...we chose 12oz Ribeye , medium cooked, fried Okra and a salad ?...& beef tips rare, steak fries, pepper, onions mushrooms and gravy, I opted out for my side salad...lots to choose from Gourmet Burgers, Fish, Chicken Kabobs, Raw Oysters, Shrimp , Fried Pickles to name a few items off their large choice menu...Kim our Waitress was awesome ...and she made sure we were well taken care of...the place is cozy, has a bar for your favorite alcoholic beverage...The meal was one of The best we have had in a very long time... Basil B52 was named Best Restaurant in Spartanburg SC 2016 and 2019... so Ya'll come!!! Well worth the wait on their yumminess done right...The SmithClan
Basils has wonderful food and a very nice atmosphere. They have expanded to accommodate more patrons, their menu is easy to read with great options. The firecracker shrimp is excellent. The steaks are amazing. Sorry didn’t have a photo.
Tried Basils for the first time. My husband and I both had the prime rib, which was delicious. My son had the chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, which was also delicious. The French Onion Soup is very good as well! We will definitely go again.
Food sucked badly. Wait staff was good and attentive and did I mention the food really bad I ordered the blackened Flounder it can to the table it was baked fish with a very watery season on it and my lady ordered a salad and it was so salty you could have eating ocean water
