The menu was large and the prices seemed to be reasonable, before they added $1.99 to everything on the menu. Our food came out quickly and was pretty standard... perhaps not the best we've ever had, but not bad. When refilling our salsa, the waitor poured it in the bowl from above and it splattered all over us and our clothes; while we ghasped and tried it block it from hitting us, it didn't seem to bother our waiter and he didn't stop to adjust.
Went here based on reviews and glad we did. Service is First Class. Depending on what you order, meals are great or okay. We got the Enchiladas Aztecas(spinach enchiladas) and the Mexican Flag Enchiladas. I thought the spinach enchiladas were amazing and the beans were the best I've had in years. But my wife said the chicken enchilada in her dish was very bland. And she said the chili relleno sauce was not impressive either. Would like for the chicken to be grilled next time when used in the enchiladas. Both of our drinks were excellent. The prices should have been updated on the menu. There was no mention of price increases on the menu, but there is a sign at the register that all items are now $1.95 higher. Not good business to not inform your customers in advance. We will go back, but I think we will both get steak dishes when we do.
First time coming here and we will definitely be back, talk about a restaurant that has it together, from the time we walked in to getting our food was amazing, we were waited on quickly, team work here getting drinks and appetizers to our table fast! Lots of food options on their menu and loved all of the vegetarian choices here!! Our food came out quickly and we enjoyed our visit, it was a little pricey with the add on charges they have but we will definitely be back and probably share something with an appetizer next time. Definitely give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed!
Extraordinary Customer Service!! From the moment we walked in we were greeted and served with 5 Star Service! The hostess, waitress, and owner all came by to check on us multiple times throughout the meal. Even though it was busy there was never a moment we felt neglected. They proactively brought additional chips, salsa, water, and drinks to make this an incredible experience! Hats off to the owners and staff for a great customer experience! This was our first visit but definitely not the last!
We passed through SC and met family after church when this restaurant was very busy. The line was well out the door and we, like several other families, had a large group. We patiently waited quite awhile because we had read the exceptional reviews. Besides, we were able to visit with each other and Rosie made sure we knew we weren't forgotten. The quality of the food and service were definitely worth the wait! Generous portions made our meal a real value. Our Simpsonville family had not tried El Tejano's before, but will be back!
That's how Rosie has been greeting me at the door for 20 years, always makes me smile. She runs a tight ship, too. I can't remember enough Spanish to know what she's saying, but you can tell by her tone of voice when she's barking orders to staff... she ain't playing. (LOL). I typically have a giant margarita and eat so many chips & salsa that I'm practically full when the entree arrives . I take home enough food for two more meals. Food & service always on point... Best Mexican place in upstate SC.
Hands down the best Mexican food in town. Both quality and quantity of food exceeded my expectations.
Have been looking for a sit down Mexican place that is actually good. This place has come the closest so far to what I am looking for. Prompt service plus chips and queso were good. I was disappointed in the enchiladas. Im impressed that this place has a vegetarian section.
The chips, salsa and quaso were also very tasty.
Amazing food, awesome service, I love the atmosphere. I always take my 1 year old by myself and they’re so friendly and helpful.
