Yesterday I placed an order over the phone for two slices of their heavenly chocolate cake. The attendant made me aware over the phone that the wait would be around fifteen minutes which worked in my favor because I live twenty minutes away. Once I arrived the crowd was immense, but I waited patiently only to be told that they couldn't fulfill my order because they were out of cake. I was crushed! I left a message on the webpage with my disappointment, but I made certain to explain that I always receive exceptional service and this was just a fluke. The GM contacted me immediately with two offers to resolved the issue. I just wanted the cake that I had been craving over a month. He promised to bring it by my office before end of the day. I arrived in my office from a meeting and there sat an entire cake! It moved me to tears because life has had her way with me over the last few months. The gesture was more about meeting another soul at the level of pure humanity as opposed to just trying to please a customer. The gesture soothed a place in my spirit that was a little wounded.Thank you for not considering it robbery to go above and beyond for a customer who will forever be loyal!
My husband and I enjoy going to Hickory Tavern in Rock Hill SC, especially for lunch. We went today, and our food was really good, however, I felt sooo sorry for our waitress. Erica G was so good, friendly and helpful! Always smiling even though she was the only server we could see working many tables.. Plus, she was dealing with constant complaints from the table behind us and remained very kind and professional to them!! Kudos to her! Hickory Tavern has great employee, hope they appreciate her!!staffing is noy staffing
Prices are a little on the high side for bar food, but service is impeccable; cannot express that enough. Sitting at the bar is not something I recommend at every bar I go to, but you will have everything you need, when you need it at this place. Also a great place for a sit down meal. Plenty of TVs if you need somewhere to watch a game.
We visited for Valentine’s Day and it was totally worth it. Food was amazing and the staffs were friendly and attentive. We tried the shrimp for appetiser as suggested by some other local guide and believe me it was amazingly delicious. For the main course we tried pull pork tacos and chicken blt. We had a wonderful lunch date and would definitely go back to try more food.
I'm stunned that this place only has 4.1 stars?! The waiter was amazing, I loved the Setting around me, and the food was amazing. I totally recommend the Fiesta Salad. It was so delicious. It came with a mini croissant drizzled in.. honey? I'm not sure, but whatever it was, it was spectacular, I wanted to marry that croissant. The salad was delicious and the perfect amount of ranch was served with it. The BBQ chicken was so good and it was cooked perfectly. The lettuce was fresh and all the vegetables were as well. The service was amazing and our food came out perfectly made. I hadn't been to this place since I was little and I want to go every single day now. This place deserves a 5 star rating <3
Hickory tavern is just what it is a tavern based out of I guess hickory the place is immaculate the televisions top notch the atmosphere not very busy for some reason that I don't know why maybe the weather maybe the prices but I know as far as ambience it has all the ingredients for a future success
Poor customer service both server and management , overcooked food. Will not be returning
Shrimp po boy was very good!!My wife had the lobster roll, and said “you haven’t had a lobster roll until you’ve had this one”.Atmosphere is great! Might be too many TVs but otherwise, really nice.As for the service, we’ve only been once, but received such good service that we will be requesting Skylar upon our speedy return.
My family reserved a room for $100 (the $100 went toward our bill) when we got there the floor was dirty. Our server Shane immediately vacuumed after we said something and gave us 3 free appetizers. He said they were super busy earlier that day and apologized. Other than that, it was great. The food was good and Shane was awesome!
Food was good. Bar drinks were not great. They were out of everything we ordered that night. Waiter was nice and tried to help as best he could.
