I was pleasantly surprised, I was talked into to doing the mild seasoning on my 3 wing combo and I'm glad I did. The chicken is very juicy.......NO driving while eating.....kiss your shirt , forearm goodbye from the juiciness. The presentation was nice, restaurant very clean, staff was very helpful and nice. I m looking forward to trying the seafood. I would have given 5 stars but was not prepared to wait 25-30 min after ordering as they cook to order, however I had time to spare, went on an errand....received a text 20min later that my order was ready. Nice touch!!!! They do not take call in orders but will do online which is what I will do going forward. Pack you patience and a few napkins, you won't be disappointed......and yes it's as good as shrimp boat
I’m a very picky eater and I’ve never had anything at Helen’s I didn’t like. The chicken sammich, tenders, chicken and waffles, and fried shrimp are my favorites and are the best around. Kiara and her crew are awesome, they’re welcoming and all around good people. You really can’t go wrong eating at Helen’s.
The winglets and shrimp were amazing!! Food was so worth the wait!! Owner was the sweetest and we will definitely be back! Delicious ?
**Edit 5/6/2022**Only editing to add that we came back for a second visit and the food may have been even better this time…if that’s possible.Tried the Chicken and Waffle and the Wingettes this time (along with another Chicken Breast Sandwich). The Wingettes were super juicy and the waffle was out-of-this-world. The lady taking our order asked me if I get cheese on my sandwich. I told her I don’t. She said she wanted me to try it and if I didn’t love it she’d buy my next one.She won’t be spending any money.It’s hard to believe that a single slice of cheese can make such a different but something about it just worked…with the Hella Hot Sauce, Bleu Cheese, and Pickles. Just amazing.We have been here twice and I’ve left extremely happy both times. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to eat in Rock Hill.**Original Review**Everything we ordered was well-prepared, freshly-cooked, and absolutely delicious. We had the Chicken Sandwich, Whole Wings (3), and Gizzards. We opted for the Hella Hot Sauce on all 3. We loved it but it isn’t for the Hot Sauce Rookie. The heat is intense but it is full of flavor.The hours are a little short right now but as long as you plan your visit you’ll be fine.Everything is cooked to order so allow about 30 minutes for your order if you’re having chicken. A guy came in behind us and ordered shrimp. His order was up in under 10 minutes so the wait time seems to be consistent with cook times for what they offer.Will definitely be back!
I didn’t even get to take pictures of the all the food because it was so good. I personally love hot food and her spices take my tastebuds to another level. I can’t go past her hot. She’s super sweet and very friendly. The food is always made fresh and she will make you want to come back for more. I love that this is black owned and she has a story behind the restaurant! Everything is great here. I first went and tried a few things. We didn’t even leave the parking lot before the shrimp was gone and the wings was up next. Literally demolished her food so disrespectful and loved ever but of it ! Definitely coming back for more.
Incredible!! Delicious hot (think hot pepper sauce) friend chicken, lobster tail and a $4 Waffle that is to die for. Perfectly cooked waffle and thick like in Belgium but better.Great new place!!!
Just happen to be riding past here and decided to stop...... so glad I did. I got the Seafood platter with catfish, fried okra, fried shrimp and fried lobster tail with an order of fried chicken gizzards. Absolutely bussing!!!! And reasonably priced. I definitely will be back and I highly recommend them. They've been open about a month and they're based out of Nashville and have another location in Atlanta as well. Check them out y'all. You wont be disappointed!!!
Very disappointed in chicken tenders was over cooked and dry. The waffles were too thick and hard to eat. With my wife’s chicken sandwich she asked for onions they put two very big rings onions on. For the price of $42 it was a poor experience and not having sweet tea is not good for any restaurant. I could have made what I got at home. I always like to try a new restaurant here in Rock Hill once but never again here.
Ate so many hit chicken places in nashville and the the helens in murfreesboro and smyrna were the absolute best quality, beautiful looking deep red chicken pieces, makes it really lookHOT! Flavor and heat is perfect and i personally think this competes w princes and hattie b's , but visually is more photogenic looking pieces. try the tea! Really enjoy this place and will return again next time Im in the area!
Very solid "hot chicken" spot, especially for Rock Hill, SC.The chicken here was very juicy, crispy and delicious, but it lacked the "Hot Chicken" aspect of the dish which was created in Nashville, TN, where the seasoned oil would coat the seasoned chicken and sop into the white bread beneath it and would be packed full of spice and flavor. They have an image that looked like it represented the style properly, but it wasn't what was provided.They have serious potential to get the style right because whatever spices and seasonings they use are very flavorful.That said, I will 100% come here again and soon.I would like for them to produce something hotter than their Hella Hot. It was very yummy and spicy, but I'd like something what will make me question my life afterwards (however, my lips are still burning a bit).Keep up the great work and I know y'all will kill it here in Rock Hill.
