1. Margaritas were store bought. 2. Cheese dip worst we have ever had at a Mexican restaurant. 3. We sat without chips several times after asking for more 2 times. They are very stingy for some reason. 4. One little salsa dish we all had to share. 5. Rice had weird vegetables and nothing special. 6. Food was well below average. Save yourself and eat somewhere else….
Great service, fresh food! Loved it.
Nothing exciting at this restaurant. The service was terrible, there were 5 tables on Sunday evening with 2 servers working and it took our waiter forever to come to the table, forever to bring my drink, and forever to even take our order. My pina colada tasted horrible, and I don't think there was even any alcohol in it. It tasted like they used the mix I bought once from Publix. Just bland and artificially sweet.I ordered the shrimp enchiladas which weren't horrible, but their rice and beans are disgusting. Rice and beans are a staple for every Mexican dish, so you know if they can't get that right, something in the kitchen is very wrong. My boyfriend got the steak quesadilla which wasn't cut, and was filled with watery queso rather than regular cheese.I wanted sopapillas for dessert, but our waiter brought our check before he even cleared our dinner plates. I felt like we were being pushed out the door at only 6:45PM.I moved here from Arizona where the Mexican food is authentic and amazing, maybe my standards are just too high for Mexican food now, but this was just horrible all around.
Loved it!!! 99 cent tacos on Tuesday, can't beat that. Their queso sauce is the best I have tried. I live over an hour away and will happily drive over for dinner again
Great atmosphere, service and delicious margaritas to start. Our meals were delicious, fresh tasting and portions are generous. Sorry we ate our meals before any photos could be taken. Maybe next time
We enjoy this restaurant out of all others. But the only turn off is the ragitone music they play too loud and too often. We enjoy good music but they play it like it’s in a night club and can become a turnoff. My family left tonight in route to El Manhattan but we decided after the last couple of visits we didn’t feel like pumping loud music this evening. We went to el Cancun.
Almost couldn't locate this place on TripAdvisor because Manhattan is misspelled. There is no "e" in Manhattan. We've been wanting to try this place since they opened in the early days of the pandemic, and so, now fully vaccinated, my wife and I met another couple there for lunch. It seems that, with a few modifications, many of the tables and fixtures from the former Newk's have been retained. It's a pleasant space with plenty of room for those wishing to be set apart from other diners these days. One in our party uses a cane and, instead of seating us further back in the dining room, we were seated just inside the front door. Our hostess offered this as soon as she saw the cane; very accommodating. The dining room was very comfortable with the air conditioning not set on "meat locker." We wore our masks until seated, then removed them, putting them on again to leave. The chips brought to the table were great; crisp and fresh. I assume the salsa was good, but I didn't try it. I focused on the queso dip, which had a sort of corn flavor to it...delicioso! The menu is extensive, with just about anything you might expect to find in a Mexican restaurant. I always look to find something with mole' and was not disappointed here: Enchiladas Poblanas, with rice. My wife ordered the Burrito Tequila, and our friends ordered a taco salad and #17 Chimichanga with ground beef. Pricing is reasonable and typical for the area. Our food arrived in good time. Our server, Jorge, had the plates tiered up his arm...how do they do that? The portions were large; as usual, my wife and I ate half an took half home for the next day's lunch. And the mole'? It was outstanding...dark and a bit sweet...some if the best I've had, and perfect with the chicken enchiladas. Everyone else made good comments on their food, as well. Everything about our visit here was great, and the staff was outstanding. There was a sign asking for patience as they were short-staffed, but we had no delays. We'll be back!
Very good food. Nice staff.
There was a big group of us and came in a little late, but the staff was great and our server George was amazing. We requested patio and they accommodated. Food was very good, cooked and tasted perfect. Our server took very good care of us and we took good care of him, very much appreciated!! It was my first visit but others that I were with have been there several times. I was not disappointed!!
The food was okay but not great. The service was good, the prices were reasonable. They brought out different types of dip for the tortilla chips than what you typically get in a Mexican restaurant. Unfortunately, these were not very good. The salsa was okay. It seems more authentic than your typical Mexican restaurant, and I would need to try a couple of different dishes to see if it's a place I would want to is it on a regular basis, but it wasn't a terribly impressive first.
