My mom and I stopped in for lunch on way back to Charleston. Trina was our waitress and was very attentive! She checked on us regularly, but not too much. Very pleasant and super friendly. Food was good and quick to the table.
We ate there in hopes of getting some good home cooking but that didn't happen. First we had to wait 20 min. to be seated in an empty restaurant. We were told they were short one cook. The restaurant was dirty including the restrooms. When our food came it was cold and we were given flimsy plastic silverware because the dishwasher had also not shown up. Portions were small but the bill for the dinner was large, we certainly didn't get our money's worth. I would have given 0 stars but that was not an option.
Was visiting from Texas and asked the hotel manager where a “good” place to eat was. They recommended Fatz. The service was okay but could have been better.I ordered the chicken fried chicken and my god was it awful! The chicken had no flavor at all, the gravy had a very concerning color to it (yellowish) the mashed potatoes were way too wet and the Mac n cheese was obviously old. After a couple of bites I asked for the ticket and left. The cheese fries were great though so that’s what I’m having for dinner
Not busy slow service, worn out booths. Food below average. Server was trying but not a good experience. was going to try dessert but took so long for meal I just wanted out of there.
Food was well-prepared and plentiful, short on help like everywhere so don't be in a rush.
Ad you can see, not many restaurant options in town. I chose Fatz as I figured I try a regional chain. The menu is not spectacular. I ended up with the 5x5 chicken. I would say both were good. But nothing to write home about. Service overall not great either. I waited 20 minutes to place an order and I believe that was because originally I said I wanted to look at menu. Beer selection terrible, Standard domestic. If near the Interstate and don't want fast food, I guess thus is an option.
Went in for Dinner 5:00 it was Mother's Day. We walked and 3 employees standing at hostel stand 1 finally speaks to us. It will be a hour wait. There was no customers waiting. I ask about the bar area. She said sure. We ordered dinner was told no bake potatoes oven was broke. I ordered a MR sirloin steak. My husband ordered chicken fried steak. Mine was raw in the middle and I couldn't cut it. Sent it back and still couldn't cut it. Plus it was cold. Hubby's gravy wasn't enough to dip a piece of meat in. So bo gravy for potatoes. Also the served his dinner on a plate with a big chip out of it. Bar was dirty.
Walked in, 3 hostesses, 2 on their phones. The one not preoccupied, a very pleasant Gal, seated me. Server came over, placed my order and it arrived fairly quick. Meal was okay, I've had much better meals in other Fatz locations, which prompted my stop at this one. I can honestly say this is the saddest condition I've seen one of this chain or restaurants slip into. Seatcover I was seated on definietely will need to be recovered soon. Upon going to the restroom, dirty floors and one of the worst restrooms I've encountered shy of a 60's era gas station where the key is attached to a log. To and from the restroom a woman that maybe was manager was loudly giving attitude about someone that either wasn't there or a prior cutomer. Sometimes those conversations should not be going on so loudly other customers can hear it. I'll probably stop at another Fatz location on travels, but not this one. Corporate, this one needs a cleaning...and maybe some folks replaced.
Stopped while on our way up north. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was clean. I ordered a burger and my dining companion ordered grilled chicken. The food was hot. My burger was good, but average, and his chicken was dry and a little crispy. From the long line coming in as we were leaving, others think the food is worth waiting for.
Well, the food was good, and the waitress started out well. But when the food arrived, we could not get any silverware. We asked 3 times as our food got colder by the minute. I finally had to stand up to look for our waitress to ask again. At which point she said the other person was supposed to bring us some. So overall, 5 for the food 2 for the lack of follow-up for the silverware.
