I cannot recommend Midtown Bistro enough. We had a table of 8 and we all ordered a wide variety off the menu and everyone loved their meals. The seafood is fresh and cooked to perfection as well as the steak, soup and salad with a wide variety of dressings. The desserts were just the perfect ending to a fantastic dinner as well. However, the best part of the night was our waitress, Sydney. She is very knowledgeable about the entire menu and gave indepth recommendations when we had questions. To top it all off she is so funny, sparing with our obnoxious group with ease, her quick wit won us over immediately. The food, atmosphere, and drinks at Midtown Bistro are all easily 5 stars, but Sydney gets an extra 5 stars as well.
Our 1st time dining here! My wife and my two sisters had a Sunday lunch that was wonderful. Tracy, our server was great! She went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed and more! Midtown Bistro is lucky to have her as an employee!Michael Brown
The food is amazing. We had several dishes and they were all 5 stars or better. I would have to say I was a little skeptical at first but left astonished with the taste and atmosphere of live piano in the background. I order a white chocolate cheesecake and tasted like a plain cheesecake. Ask the waiter to be sure, but he said the cook doesn't add much flavor to take away from the cheesecake which made no sense at all and left me disappointed in my 10-dollar dessert. I would definitely go back. See you there.
Excellent food and service on an upscale atmosphere with a piano player. However, dress is casual- shorts and nice shirt/tee shirt. Best meatballs and sauce that I have ever tasted. Reasonable prices too!
My husband golfed with someone who recommended Midtown Bistro. We drove up from Surfside Beach and it was worth it. The restaurant is very nice. Tables were not crowded together. Our son is in a wheelchair and we felt very comfortable. The piano player was a plus! Now onto the food. Appetizers were very good. We shared the smoked whitefish, which was delicious and the mashed martini which was different and very good. Dinner came with either soup or salad and we all chose the sausage and banana pepper soup. It was very different and very tasty. Entree portion sizes were very good. Dinners included a grouper special, veal parm, tortellini with grilled chicken and the low country saute. Everything was cooked well and all the sauces tasted very fresh. The table shared a NY cheesecake and tiramisu. It was a very good dinner. The only complaint was the old fashioned cocktail was not prepared properly. We will definitely make the trip up to N Myrtle Beach again
We have been coming to Myrtle Beach for years and don't know how we have missed this place! Came across it this year after looking for some new places to try and all I can say is OMG! The food was amazing! From the mozzarella appetizer (best we have ever had) to the sausage and banana pepper soup to our entrees which included the low country sautee, seafood newburg, tortellini and fettuccine alfredo, everything was delicious!! Our server Tina was an absolute delight and made the dining experience all that much better! We highly recommend and will absolutely return when we are back in MB in the fall! Top notch!!
This place is great. always good food. We had seafood pomodoro and lowcountry sauté, both were great. The mule was perfect.
We had a party of 14 so we made reservations. We were seated immediately when we arrived. The restaurant was clean and inviting. Everything was delicious but the absolute favorites were the strawberry lemon drop martinis, fish dip, prime rib (which you can reserve ahead of time) and grouper (fresh caught daily special), and tiramisu. I would definitely recommend to family and friends and will definitely go back.
Unexpectedly Disappointed …. We have been dining here during our beach visits for years. This restaurant is our favorite and always booked for our first night out. BUT that’s the only reason we gave it three stars, otherwise it would have been two. (Excellent service gets you two stars automatically). I had scallops with shrimp on risotto which was just plain boring. My wife had white fish piccata on a bed of spinach that we should have sent back. Our server was amazing, thus two stars. With so many good restaurants in the area (Bennys), there is no reason to go here unless jazz piano background music is your thing.
This place had good reviews and an online menu we liked. On its website, it said “reservations strongly recommended.” We called at 4:30 pm on a Tuesday, and asked if we should make reservations. The gal who answered asked how many and when we would be there. We said 2 people, and in 15 minutes. She said it would be fine. When we got there, an older, unfriendly woman at the door asked if we had reservations; we said no, but that we had just called and were told it wouldn’t be necessary. When we said we had just called, she rudely said that wasn’t possible because she answers the phone… “Are you sure you called here?” The place was almost empty, but there was a piano player, and perhaps it might fill up. She proceeded to lead us to a table in the back next to the kitchen door. When we said we didn’t want to sit next to the kitchen, she reluctantly led us to a large empty room on the opposite side. That said, it didn’t start us off in a great mood. As for the food, I enjoyed the salad, bread, and chicken piccata. My partner said the eggplant parmesan was acceptable. We waited forever for our check, even when the waitress nodded to us. We finally had to go back to the inhospitable “hostess” to get our check. We won’t be going back; there are too many other Italian restaurants that couldn’t be any more rude.
