My family and I came to Mellow Mushroom because I wanted to eat pizza. We arrived at 7pm and waited about an hour to even get seated. When we were walking to our seats, I noticed there were open booths so they could've seated us sooner. We ordered 1 large pizza and another medium pizza along with other stuff. We waited an hour and 15 minutes for pizzas that they weren't even cooking because they didn't have any dough. Why didn't they tell us immediately if they didn't have dough? We sat there for over an hour before they even told us they couldn't make them. Okay whatever. We order whatever we can off the menu at this point because we're all frustrated. We waited another 30 minutes before staff come back and basically told us they didn't even start fixing our food. After hearing this, my dad told them to just cancel the order and we left. This service is absolutely unacceptable. You'd think a pizza place would have dough.
We received very poor service! At 3:00 in the afternoon, we sat outside and waited a while before the waitress even came out to take our drink order. Then, she never came back so we went inside to request a table. All the employees were standing around so I had to approach them to get a table. Finally we were seated and when the waiter asked if it was too hot outside I told him our waitress must have forgotten about us. We placed our drink and food orders with a different waitress. After a total of 45 minutes I approached her as she was standing around chatting to tell her we still didn't have drinks. She said there was nothing she could do, so we left. HORRIBLE SERVICE!
Blu totally made our trip to Mellow Mushroom amazing! She was really sweet and attentive. Like all Mellow Mushrooms the interior is super cool and the pizza.... my goodness the pizza. I'm vegan and if you are too then you can know how it's really hard to find a satiating meal sometimes. Mellow mushroom uses follow your heart cheese and I swear on my life this is some of the best vegan pizza you can get! I always order garlic and olive oil as the base, vegan cheese, and jalapenos. Yeah yeah I know it's simple but I swear this stuff is so stinking good. Definitely check out Mellow mushroom if you're in the area and have an array of dietary restrictions in your group, there's something for everyone!Also, they have the best kind of ice.
I believe in redemption. I am a Mellow Mushroom lover so I just had to stop after our dolphin cruise at Myrtle Beach. Unfortunately, there was a long wait for food, my order had to be sent back, no clean silverware, a rude waitress (not ours), etcetera. I sought out the manager who was genuinely embarrassed and apologized profusely. He and our server worked very hard to rectify our issues which included comping our meal, to a great extent. I am not one to gloss over issues and if I did, I shouldn't have your confidence to trust the reviews I give. I will say however, I believe in second chances and with all that has happened to us collectively over the past few years, we all need to be shown some grace. I will come back and I think you should give them a shot too.?
I'm particular about my pizza. I've had the best in NY, NJ and CT and I'm lactose intolerant, so I'm not going to just eat any pizza because it's there. That being said, we ordered delivery from this place recently when we had friends over and after hearing enough yums, I gave it a try.EXCELLENT!We got a mushroom pie, a pepperoni pie and a plain cheese pie.I never got to taste the mushroom pie, it was gone too fast. That tells me everything I need to know as my friends and family are like me when it comes to pizza and I look forward to trying it next time.The other two consisted of a thin, crispy crust, fresh cheese with the right amount of sharpness and chewiness, as well as a fresh tomato sauce that had a great mix of herbs and spices. The sauce had enough spiciness to tickle my taste buds, but not too much that the little kids couldn't enjoy it.The pepperoni had a nice flavor, not too porky, tangy, spicy or salty and it wasn't undercooked.My only negative is barely a negative. The slices were a bit floppy. This is most likely due to the fact that it was delivered, but I would probably order the pies "well done" as I often do at other pizza joints. Of course, one could just stick it in the oven for a few minutes and get the same results. I wound up eating many slices just the way it came and I have no complaints and I'm looking forward to next time!
Nice experience here today. They are understaffed--as we've come to expect everywhere these days--and our waiter, Dylan, also prepared our pizzas. In spite of this situation, he was prompt, courteous and attentive. Our pizzas and salad were delicious (especially The Havana which my husband ordered!).
Our family arrived at 1:30 pm for lunch after we played a round o Putt Putt. We were seated & cold drinks were brought immediately. Our party of 8 ordered & delicious food & drinks were served. The restaurant was clean & staff was polite & kind. We ordered appetizers, drinks, & 3 delicious pizzas. Everything was delicious. The manager came to our table & we thanked him for a wonderful meal.
Loved the vibe, the strawberry lemon-lime mocktail and the pizza was amazing, also bathrooms were very clean. Staff very friendly and attentive as well. Great experience, would eat again!
