I had heard that the Carolinas were know for their BBQ. I found a place close to where I was attending a conference. This place is small and quaint, but the food was just amazing. These were the best ribs I have ever had. If the ribs were this good, I can only imagine how good their other items will be. If I ever get back to Charleston, I will make another trip.
As a self professed BBq hound, I must say Willie Jewels is among the best I have eaten in the Charleston Tri- County area. That said, I think it is the best value of high quality BBq. They have it all: Pulled Pork, Brisket, Ribs, Turkey, Chicken and great southern sides. I have had many great BBQ experiences, but Willie Jewels is the most consistently the best. The brisket is out of this world. Their secret is in their smoking technology science. The three meat platter is a great deal. Many restaurants have not bounced back very well after the plandemic, but in my opinion Willie Jewels is even better. If you are staying anywhere near hwy 78 you definitely try this place
I had the pulled pork with corn fritters and fresh pork skins. It was great! The fried pork skins were still crackling when they came out! I'm not a sauce girl, but that sassy sweet was so good I put it all over my pulled pork! They were out of okra, but that's ok. I'll be back !
Food is good. Came out quickly. My husband's brisket was cold though. My chicken and Mac were warm and delicious. Couple different bbq sauces to try. Plenty of parking. Service is ok. Bathrooms missing soap and toilet paper.

We are new to the area from VA and this is the best BBQ we have ever tasted. We have returned twice and are pleased each visit. Consistency and excellency in food flavor, portion, and extra effort is evident. Fast, friendly staff. VEry Very busy as everyone is hearing about them and are return customers obviously.
Always enjoy my food at Willie Jewells BBQ. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Being tired tonight, I got take out. Imagine my disappointment when I got home and didn't have the Peach Cobbler, I ordered. Very disappointed. It is the best peach cobbler!
Let me start off by saying that this was thee worst, poor customer service, and meal I have EVER received from this so-called Old School "BBQ joint". If I could give this place a 0-star rating...I would!! I ordered $40 worth of bbq and received $0 worth of nothing! We ordered two of the 2-meat combo with double sides, a side salad and extra green beans. The chicken was undercooked, the beef brisket was tough, over done, burnt and dried out, the corn fritters were overly deep fried, the Mac & cheese was gummie and the baked beans and texas toasted was scorched and charred as well. The pics absolutely does NOT do the taste of this piece of trash justice. Then when I called to speak to the manager, which I ended up speaking to the "owner in training" and I informed him of the situation and tht I had frequently been there before and had never had this poor of service or quality of food. Instead of him apologizing for the food and service, he blames it on me and states tht the food "may have been dry b/c of of it sitting, waiting for me to pick it up". I then politely informed him tht I literally live less than 5 minutes from the restaurant and the lady on the phone told me tht it wld take 20 minutes before it was ready. Still hoping to get some type of resolution he then asked me what is it tht I wanted him to do abt it. I informed him tht I wanted a credit of some sort and he said, "Yes, sure". And then informed him tht we had eaten part of the meals and he said tht was fine just bring the food back and I wld get my refund. I asked him wht time they closed and he said 9pm. To top things off I called back to find out if my refund wld be in the form of a credit voucher or the way I paid and he insulted me by saying tht, "it wld only make common sense to be refunded for only the uneaten portions of food and tht I wld only get my money back for tht", even after I had already told him tht the food was partly eaten and he said tht was ok to still bring it back. He made it seem like I was clueless and stupid and he made sure tht I knew tht he was not going to honor wht he said. I then asked if there was someone higher than him tht I cld speak to and he told me, "No...only his mom, who is the owner and tht she was not going to be as generous as he. He then told me tht, "I was no longer welcomed to his place of business anymore", even though I spend more than $40-50 on one meal a week in their establishment. Go figure! I will definitely NEVER recommend this place, especially for the price....given the customer service satisfaction is not worth it, its actually WORTHLESS!
I ordered take out. It was everything my friend hyped it up to be. Loved the mac & cheese.
