great food, best Grits, and staff are so great! Even danced to The Twist for a minute for some fun. Definitely try this place out and expect to take home some leftovers for breakfast!
Better food. Had takeout twice in the past couple of months both were unacceptable. I will not give you another chance.
Excellent food amazing staff and customer service. Highly recommend
What an amazing dining experience! The Grit Counter seemed unassuming and a bit off the beaten path when we first walked in but we were immediately welcomed by Zach behind the bar and decided to sit and enjoy his company. The appetizers were proportioned well but things only got better! My wife and I loved the honeysuckle cocktail and the craft beer selection was spot on and all local breweries. The Ranchero grits opened me up to the unique style offered here and I will be back to try the rest of the menu. The best part of our dining experience was truly the staff. Every other guest that walked through the door was greeted with a warm smile and friendly face and we felt right at home. Give me a few more stars to click please!
Great service! Knowledgeable, fast and friendly. Plenty of seating indoor and out. Delicious grit bowls meeting or exceeding the quality I've had at Grace and Grit for brunch in the past. Great selection of local beers also. Will definitely recommend and be back!
Passed by here one day when it was closed and was determined to come back when it was opened. I was pleasantly surprised, I got the Shrimp and grits and it was delicious!! My boyfriend got the self respecting southerner and we both enjoyed his too. There’s really no way you can go wrong here! Plus their full bar is open at 11 am ?
Interesting place. They have so many grit bowl variations I wanted to try them all! I ordered the grit counter burger instead and it was really delicious. The burger has bacon jam, horsey sauce and caramelized onions in it and the flavors come together just perfectly!
Totally loved it. Looking forward to going back again. I loved the atmosphere of the inside of the restaurant and the seating outside. You can build your own bowl or you can order their specialties. They also have items besides grits. You can get a hamburger or a seafood basket and you can get french fries. The prices were not bad they were pretty good. They do however charge 3.5% more if you use a credit card. I really enjoyed this place.
Excellent food is really all you need to know. Delicious grit bowls with many options along with a full bar. Easy order at the counter and they bring it to your table.I got the bowl with fried oysters, collard greens and broiled brussel sprouts and it was delicious. Only problem was I needed a nap before driving back to Jacksonville.
I’ve been wanting to visit this place for a while at the Mount Pleasant location but never seem to make it there. So when they open up the location in North Charleston it was significantly closer and I couldn’t wait to go and try one of their famous grit bowls.I am so glad that I sat in the car for a while and actually looked over the menu before I even went in because they have so many options and different sides and proteins you can pick from to make your bowl a probably would’ve took in me a while to figure out exactly what I was going to get.I decided to go with the jalapeño cheddar grits, brussels sprouts, collard greens, fried chicken breast and the honey hot sauce. It was everything that I hoped it would be so good so flavorful I recommend it 10 times over just because of the flexibility of being able to build your own bowl and make it whatever you want it to be you definitely have to check them out there’s a Mount Pleasant location and a North Charleston location. You can follow me over on Instagram @sipbiteandtasteit for more foodie fun!
