I ventured to the CODFATHER for a late-night dinner. The restaurant was clean and staff friendly. The fish comes in 2 sizes, 4 or 8 oz. I ordered the full order with fries. The fish was fried to order and with a couple of people in front of me, it took about 6 minutes to get my order, not unreasonable at all. The fish was fried perfectly, a nice Batter, not to thick, fried golden brown and crisp, but moist and flaky on the inside...perfect IMO. However, I was not impressed with the chips (fries), which is no big deal to me...since I really only wanted the fish. Tartar sauce had a good flavor and was not chunky like you find a lot of the time. Ample sauce was given for the 8oz portion, unless you are one of those people who want a little fish with your sauce. I would return if ever back in the area. Thank you for a delicious meal and friendly atmosphere.

The Codfather came recommended to me, and I must say “I am glad I gave this place a try”!!! The fish and chips are GREAT. Fish was fried to Golden Goodness and the chips were a nice touch. I’m a big guy and the full order filled me up and didn’t break the bank. The staff was friendly and took a minute to explain the ordering process.I would highly recommend you order yours today

Living in England for years I appreciated the fish and chips. So glad to have found Cod Father's on Spurill Ave. Every time we eat there I am transported back to England. The Best Fish and Chips in the Low Country.Ps:The meat pies are amazing.

The COD Father is THE BEST Fish and Chips I have EVER had HANDS DOWN!! I honestly could eat this every single day and never get sick of it, that is HOW GREAT it is! Thanks for being there for lunch time :)

We are visiting the Charleston area from Connecticut. We are staying at an AirBnB. I asked the hosts about placed to visit and restaurants where we could get something to eat. They recommended the CODfather. I had the Fish and Chips; my wife had a 1/2 order. The fish was very good. The service is fast. It was a good choice by the hosts.

Definitely a place to get great fried Cod!!!Fits in with the diner motif and a well-stocked bar.Energetic staff needed to corral the customers.I was there an hour and they had completed and provided over 75 orders of'Lightly battered' Cod and very yummy tartar sauce.Don't cheat yourself of some great food!!

This place was recommended by a coworker. The prices are very reasonable for the meal you got. The fish and fries were very good and delicious. Definitely will be back and recommended this place to others

Staff super friendly and fish and chips were delicious. You can tell it is a loved place to eat! It was recommended by a friend at the library!

The fish was so flaky and tasty! The fries were solid, my only complaint is it did take 45 minutes to make it for a take out order, I know with Covid everybody is short staffed! I don’t mind waiting for good food but if you aren’t the patient type you might skip this spot but definitely some of the best fish n chips I have had recently!

My husband and I came here with our two year old son for lunch. Best Fish&chips either of us have had…we loved that they came wrapped in paper, the batter was crisp and not heavy or overly greasy with a large piece of fish. The three of us shared one meal and it was pleanty (son is a light eater). The tarter sauce also was del ious loved the powerful dill flavor. It was a beautiful afternoon to sit outside and enjoy our lunch. We will 100% be back!
