I had the shrimp dinner with macaroni and cheese and potato salad. My husband had the scallop and shrimp plate. They definitely live up to their name and awards. We will be back.
Delicious! I had the tilapia burger with fries and pineapple tea. Everyone in the restaurant was talking about the pineapple tea as it is so good!
The door to this building is heavy! We initially thought it was closed but we had to pull the door hard. Upon getting our food, the cashier informed me that there was only fries and salad as side. It was cool but wanted to try the Mac and cheese. I was very excited to taste Charleston best seafood (that’s what the van said) husband order the fish sandwich and I ordered the shrimp and stuffed crab entree with two pineapple teas. One sauce giving was VERY salty! The other sauce was some kind of tarter sauce with seasoning, it was very thick. It was not dippable but you could spoon it on your food. The “stuffed crab” was breading in aluminum foil shaped as a shell and very wet. On top of the high blood pressure from the salty sauce, the tea will give you an insulin sock from the sugar content. We ended up going back to the hotel, splitting one drink and adding water (half &half) it was perfect then. The shrimp was under cooked. I ended up eating half my husband sandwich. I was glad they didn’t use iceberg lettuce for the salad. That’s the only compliment I have for the this establishment.
Well, we were excited about having some seafood soulfood. ? Unfortunately, this spot let us down. We both had shrimp and whiting with fries. The lady stated they were out of everything else beside fries and salad. That should have been a sign to head out but we stayed. The whiting tasted like the frozen bag of fish you get at Walmart and for it to be 16$ a plate....that won't happen again. However, the shrimp tasted a lot better. The dessert was cool. We had the banana pudding and strawberry cheese cake. I don't think it was worth 9$ a piece but we had to try it all. Oh well, maybe next time! ?
Now normally I wouldn’t post a bad review on a black owned business because I take pride in suporrting my people now rather me call the food inspections place I’ll just leave this here I spent 40$ in a raw fried lobster that took 30 mins or longer to come out disappointed isnt the word
Great food and awesome service!
Visiting for the weekend… After running the annual CRBR, searched for a local Seafood Restaurant. Nana’s certainly did not disappoint! Seafood was fresh and authentic. The pineapple tea was delicious… never had that flavor before… ??Will definitely, add Nana’s to my list when visiting Charleston again.
fresh tasty seafood. The garlic seafood is really good. It would be good if can have some kind of bread to go with it.
Absolutely fantastic seafood. We got a variety of fried and grilled items. The garlic shrimp and lobster was amazing! The guy at the register was super nice and even called us when the food was ready. We waited in the car while the food was prepped. Overall a great foodie experience and will definitely recommend.
We arrived around 1:30pm to place our order and were informed the wait was 25 minutes. We left almost one hour later. It is a small takeout restaurant and was rather busy. We received additional sides because our orders were incorrect - my advice: check before leaving the restaurant.I was a little disappointed in the garlic butter shrimp and crab leg... for $35, it was underwhelming. The shrimp was cooked too long and the crab legs weren't properly cleaned before being cooked. The garlic butter had seeped below the foil and luckily didn't spill before making it back to the hotel. There was one container of sauce included but no salad dressing. The fried shrimp and flounder dinner was really good but the one piece of fish was very small. My daughter enjoyed the lemon pepper wings. The mac and cheese was delicious. The potato salad was good but I prefer more mustard. I was searching for a building like the images online but the restaurant is in a suite... I passed it and had to make a u-turn.
