LoLA is absolutely fantastic, but I have to warn you, it's very frustrating deciding on what to eat! Everything is amazing! I want it all! And I'm going to go back until I have it all. Real talk though, the appetizers are pretty darn large and almost meal sized. Perhaps the best thing on the menu that I've found so far is the etoufee. And everything else has been delicious as well. Enjoy!
We heard about 5hem from friends and could not wait to go there to try them. Everything was delicious. The cornbread does contain pecans. I read on another review it did not. So good and sweet. Had a ton of shrimp in my shrimp and grits and the grits were nice and smooth. Hubby had fish tacos and dirty rice and lived it. We did not get our angel scallops but the manager credited our card for us. Definitely will be back and hope to try them next time!
We heard about this place and had to try it! Made a reservation the day before and our table was waiting for us upon arrival. So many great choices made it tough to decide what to order. Started off with the parmesan oysters which were amazing!! The Buffalo gator bites were delicious and finished off which some Jambalaya!! Amazing food and service! Absolutely loved the experience and we'll be back!! Thank you!
This is a cool spot in North Charleston with many seafood options, outdoor seating, and huge portions. I went with the seafood gumbo (without rice) for my main. It was filled with shrimp, crawfish, oysters, and sausage. I loved all the seafood but thought the gravy/roux was just okay. I sampled the gator bites and bread pudding as well. Both of which were delicious. I definitely plan on coming back and trying more of their menu.
Traveled to visit friends who took us here. What a find. Really don't recall what we had but everyone was ecstatic with their meals and drinks.
**warning this place is not bariatric patient friendly** they denied our friend who’s a bariatric patient the opportunity to older a kids meal even with a medical card and that would have been ok but don’t be rude or condescending about it. The manager Tia was rude and unprofessional. Secondly you can’t call your cornbread praline pecan cornbread when there’s no pecans or pralines in the cornbread and why not serve it warm? The cornbread we got was cold, dry, and hard. The final nail in the coffin was how are you up charging $3-4 to replace a side fries with another side, yes I get it there should be a charge but not the price of paying for the item À la carte on the menu. I tried to give this place a chance but I can’t patronize a place like this!
This is a very popular place. Most of their seating is outside- you may need a jacket. I tried the Fried Green Tomatoes and the Shrimp and Grits. Both were very good!
What a great little place with outdoor seating and music. Fantastic food and great service. The shrimp and grits, the etouffe, the corn bread all excellent and heard others raving about other plates all at reasonable prices. May just divert to there on trips North or South on I95
We stayed in Park Circle for a week. On our first night we dined at LoLA and we had incredible meals--and found the portions to be very large for a great price. With so many options for fantastic dining in Park Circle and Charleston, we did not expect to return, but throughout the week we kept comparing our meals elsewhere to what we had at LoLA on our first night. So we decided to end our stay with another dinner at LoLA! The flounder basket is perfectly prepared and HUGE, the flounder tacos were like an incredible flavor explosion, the shrimp etouffee over dirty rice brings just the right amount of heat, and the shrimp and crawfish po'boy was massive and delish! I can not recommend it highly enough!!!
Great food, great service!
