Best tacos in Charleston. Went on a Saturday and it was busy. After you order, the food is prepared fresh and the wait is definitely worth it.It's cash only and they don't sell beer or margaritas, but the food is amazing.
Peor comida mexicana que a comido! We went here cause we heard good things about thier food....worst decision ever! He got menudo y tacos de tripa. He said his tacos smelt like they were from a dead dog. You could tell from the smell it was expired food. Our kids didn't eat thier food as well. My taco de carne asada was cold and tough to chew and had no taste. We had to wait forever for our food and it was definately NOT worth the wait! Like my husband said ni gratis va a volver a comer aqui!
We were hungry and looked for restaurants en route to Charleston. Las Lupitas was a nice find. While the building didn’t inspire confidence, the food was terrific! The place was full of native Spanish speakers - both staff and customers. I really enjoyed trying out my limited Spanish vocabulary to order. The tacos in particular were amazing. Great value for the price. Nearly every table was full and several people picked up To Go orders while we were there. So clearly, it’s a popular local place. Glad we found it!
So good! Steak Quesadillas and tamale was fantastic. Rice water was good. Look out for the jalapenos. Cash only!
Severely disappointed. Soggy taco shells and my barbacoa was ALL FAT! I thought the reviews were good so we tried it. Never again.
They are cash only and have generous portions at a reasonable price. Thought I'd try them since they were close. If you don't speak Spanish, good luck ordering and actually receiving what you get. No one speaks English there. I struggled with the order taker understanding me. I ordered 1 enchilada, 1 tamale, rice, and refried beans to go. The enchilada was just a bunch of steamed flour tortillas covered with a salad. The tamale was not there. The rice was white and the beans were black beans in a cup that looked more like a soup. If you go there and don't speak Spanish, bring one wit you. But, the food is fresh, and like most Mexican food restaurants, the portions are generous. Although small, it was very clean and very colorful.
Real Mexican food. Best we have had in the Charleston area.
If you are looking for Real, True, Authentic Mexican food... This is the place. We are from southern California and this is the best in North Charleston by far. Be prepared to speak a little Spanish as this is the real deal ?
Authentic and delicious, not much parking or seating but would be worth the wait. Horchata was the best I’ve ever had, and cabeza tacos were perfect.
Best Tacos in Charleston. Homemade Tortillas...the salsas are very tasty....Don't judge a book by its cover. THE ONLY TAKE CASH..no cards for payment.
