Each visit at H&L Seafood is always on point!! Their customer service is amazing and they never disappoint!!! Listen, their large male blue crabs are the biggest I’ve ever seen in the city and they consistently have fresh and large blue crabs every time!!! Armando and Dana are the best and they treat you like family!! So thank you!!

Just left there with 2 dozen blue 1 dozen large clams and macaroni salad, the staff was very nice there was about 8 people ordering fresh seafood the place was clean and organized headed back to Columbia to cook my blue I will be returning
The customer service here is HORRIBLE!!!!In my opinion, the little slender girl is as nasty as rotten seafood smells. Why do you mistreat the people who pay your salaries? Ignorant people are useless and I am going to help you not mistreat me by not coming back. I may only be one person, but I can tell others about your level of rudeness and nasty disposition. The rude girl should stay in the back.... the very back. I told her that she was unkind, then she began speaking in another language. Bye Felicia!!!

Horrible customer service! Ordered a dozen male crabs and received a dozen mixed crabs so they basically ripped me off! Not friendly people and I highly do not recommend wasting your money there!!!
I went to HNL seafood today to buy three dozen large male crabs they did not have enough large male so the young man came from the back and said something to the female in whatever language they are speaking which he was telling her he did not have enough large meals so she told him to give me the mix $32 a dozen when it came out and I saw what was in the bag I told him no give me my money back I’m not paying $32 a dozen for those small crabs I was very disappointed that they would even do that…not going back there
I stumbled across H&L this morning while looking for another market that advertised an earlier opening. The owner, I assume, very nicely invited me in. I asked was he sure since they had 20 mins before officially opening and he insisted that it was ok. Once inside the young lady was EXTREMELY rude, to say the least. I asked what type (of fish) was on display and she replied "fish". She continued her work, preparing to open, with sighs and eyerolls. I ignored her and placed my partial order and asked where I could get a cooler because I intended to order more. She pointed across the street and laughed. Then told me that "they have to clean the fish...its going to take a while...he let you in and just wants the money." (As a business owner, I agree with level of service to make a sale and was prepared to make it worth his accommodating me) I replied that there's no reason for her to continue to be bothered by my patronizing her business, cancelled my order, and left. Some family should NOT work in the front of the house.
This place is owned by a Mexican American family and they were very nice. It was clean and did not have a seafood oder, it smelled clean. We ordered 3 doz of live crabs today. Not 1 was bad or dead. Everyone was heavy and delicious. I tried Marvins but they were out and they wanted 34.00doz. H&L price was 29.00doz for all large males. Just an FYI, I picked up 10lbs of shrimp from Geechie Seafood in Mt. P and paid 12.00lb for heads off large shrimp. H&L had super Jumbo shrimp today for 11.99lb and they were BIG BIG, much Bigger than Geechie.. This is my new GO TO Seafood place for now on and I live in James Island. Thank You H&L, I will be back.
