This was my first time coming here, and I was greatly impressed as I was welcomed with a smile as a staff opened the door. Jus a very warm Environment, it is..Was waited on as soon as we got there, the drinks came nice and cold on ice, our waiter tyler was awesome happy, friendly, cordial what can I say. The warm bread came with the cheese and herbs so yummy we ordered the food it hot and fresh, and was delicious! And the strawberry cheese cake YUMMY! OMG I swear the best Italian food in North Charleston the prices were great the service was wonderful so come one one, come all to the best place in town⚘
My husband and I visited this location on our date today as part of our anniversary celebration. We decided to put ourselves on the wait list early this morning in case they were busy when we arrived due to it being a Saturday (previous visits we often couldn't get in or had to wait quite awhile for a table). Today they weren't terribly busy whenever we arrived and we were seated quickly, and had an absolutely wonderful waitress named Jasmine. She was very friendly and attended to whatever needs we had (in as timely a manner as she could), she stayed on top of our refills and brought us our to go plates quickly whenever we were ready. We enjoyed taking our time with our meal and we never felt rushed, everything was out in a decent amount of time. They were out of one item we wanted but were able to substitute that item for us without any issues. Overall we both agreed that we would return again and look forward to our next visit.
Awful experience this evening. My car side order was 20 minutes late & after driving home I realized that they didn’t include our sides. Our order was late because one entree was wrong. Apparently the other order just sat the whole time because my steak is so hard it’s nearly inedible. With no fettuccini alfredo our dinner was a salad, cold chicken & inedible steak for $55.00.
Let me preface this by saying I am a type 1 insulin dependent diabetic who was crashing when we went to our time scheduled online. See attached screen shot. I pulled up for a party of 2 and we called and asked how long the wait was. This was at 8:03pm. The proprietor/manager, Billy, told us that the wait was at least a hour and a half and he wasn't going to be able to seat us until after 9:30pm (store closes at 10pm). We asked if we could get on the wait list and he says they “don't have one on Mother's Day and that we had to be physically present for the entire hour and a half inside the building.” I have been to to this location at least 4-5 times a month, so I knew that was not the case. When we questioned that, he then changed the story and said we could be added to the text wait list and they would text. Being a frequent Carrabas customer, I went online after and selected a wait list reservation (after he lied and said that wasn't even an option) and was able to reserve a time for a hour earlier. When we got there, the hostesses were SO sweet and welcoming. They informed us that they could seat us immediately. I asked to speak with whomever was in charge and he comes up and very rudely says that the hostesses shouldn't have sat us because the kitchen was backed up (half the restaurant was empty) and that they weren't seating us. I asked for clarification because we asked the hostesses how long the wait to be seated was and the seating chart had multiple seats open. Billy then says he's "annoyed as sh*t that the hostesses told us we could be sat. Embarrassing to have a man with an ego that big that he would rather a type 1 diabetic crash than admit he lied because he was overwhelmed. Disgusting customer service on the managers part. Looking at the reviews online, it seems that this is a common trend. It’s pretty clear that this is the normal for this company but ick. Hopefully someone with less of an ego is able to turn that place around. The person directly after us, with the same amount of people, was sat immediately.
We were in the mood for Italian and even though I've been less than impressed with past visits, the menu looked more extensive and there was a minimal wait. We started at the bar to have a glass of wine while waiting and I can say the bartender was excellent. Very professional and attentive. We should have stayed at the bar and had our meal there. The server we had reminds me of the saying, "Tell me you hate your job without telling me you hate your job." She appeared absolutely miserable and only had 4 tables the entire time we were there. I realize it's not an easy job to wait tables, however her attitude could have been much better. Anyone working with people should at least try to act like they like human interaction. When she came to our table, she saw my leftover wine glass and immediately said "Water for you" then walked off. It was a less than pleasant opening. I would have been fine ordering the water for myself, but it was her tone and demeanor that was distasteful. Our drinks sat empty for over 10 minutes. I ended up going back up to the bar to get us both drinks. We got to our table around 9:05 pm and left close to 10:40 pm. It took over 20 minutes for bread, then 30+ minutes for the salad which appeared as if it had sat for quite some time. The dressing so soaked into the lettuce that it was wilted and warm. When the entrees finally arrived, they did taste okay. I had wanted extra sauce but our server didn't return to our table for quite some time. I ended up getting the sauce with our to go boxes and check. Needless to say, we won't be going back to this chain.
Service was so poor today after three tries I cancelled the order and left.
Not with the money for sure. I have eaten at many Carrabas and this one does not measure up. The food was gross and they were out of the house dressing. The service was fine. My waiter was personable and did a good job with customer service. It’s in an area that is “drying up” business wise and it matches its surrounding.
Chains are chains. First time there and for this restaurant. No one on the floor is really hustling. They’re working but not hustling. There was a kitchen mess up prior.Bartenders were very nice, bar was clean and there were knowledgeable about the menu.Food was decent enough although the portions looked to be on the smaller side, albeit a proper portion size but for around $18+ an entree..Had the calamari. Good portion, right out of the fryer.Saw the pork chop & steak and those are very nice portions. Friend found 2 hairs in the pork chop and was given 3 gift cards equivalent to the entree. Picture of a dessert and tried to take a picture of friend’s pork chop.I would stop in again as an option B for Italian food.Again, chains are chains.
Our waitress today was awesome. I wish I remembered her name, but she had a colorful wispy mask on. We had a big table and she went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. Wonderful service.
Working a +14 hr day...figured a Caesar salad and The Johnny would be sustenance for the evening. I figured I could order online so that I could keep working and drive and pick up the order from curbside. Boy was I wrong. This place used to be a family favorite. Good food, perfect service. It's now a dive. Ordered online was provided a time frame of 22 minutes to when my order would be ready. At 22 minutes I was a punctual Viking and waited in my car... a description of which was requested and provided in the online order. I waited an additional 10 minutes before approaching the door and was greeted with lettering instructing me to wait in my car. I returned to my vehicle running with the headlights on and waited another 15 minutes before entering the restaurant and asking the hostess for clarification on whether I needed to ask for my food or if somebody was going to come out and actually check on the order. She instructed me that my vehicle was probably overlooked to which I replied "with my lights on parked in the curbside parking with the vehicle running?" I was instructed to wait patiently inside near the curbside area. Twice I had to provide my name and my order was one of seven sitting on a shelf waiting and ready to go...I was handed my water but not before noticing the jovial kitchen staff and I thought quietly to myself "I'm sure this is just a small mistake and my food will be amazing."Shocker, I was wrong yet again. Not one part of my order was correct. Save yourself $87.91 and don't even think about eating at this chum bucket. The best part was while waiting for my food inside the lobby, another patron proceeded to complain to the hostess how she was equally offended during her dine-in experience...
