Just left. I had the sirloin with loaded baked potato with salad and a tea. My wife had Ms. Betty's cheeseburger with blue cheese and fries. The burger was very good, cooked right. The fries were, well fries. The sirloin had an uncanny resemblance to a chuck steak. Very fatty and sinewy. Took a lot of work to cut the meat away from the tendons. I finally gave up.Service was okay and food came quickly. The last thing, I was overcharged. With sales tax, before tip the bill should have been around $38.50. I was charged $45.86. Conveniently the only receipt we get is the credit card receipt so there is no detailed receipt to check for error.Won't return again, especially since a fatty tough $23 steak ended up costing me $30. Could have been an honest mistake but my bank account doesn't know the difference.Added after owner reply: okay you have explained the charge, I'll have more but first I don't go running to the internet and set my blazers to full blast. I have nothing aimed at you. I post reviews good and bad to let others know of my experience at a business. Did you not note the comment on the burger? This is the magic of social media. Where others would have to rely on word of mouth before now we have a multitude of opinions to see. So no' I didn't run to the internet. I actually didn't even think about the price, other than it is unusual to not get a detailed receipt in this day and age, until my wife said something AFTER WE LEFT. I have browsed the rest of the reviews now also and as I am sure you are aware there are several negative comments regarding the quality of your cuts. And no it is not as you told one individual, the luck of the draw. USDA grades meat for exactly this purpose. What is your grade? With that said I was told to pick a side and just said salad. I never realized there was an upcharge for salad. I assumed there would be for the loaded potato but did not think of that. Again my suggestion would be to give a detailed receipt prior to running the card. I appreciate the offer to come back but I will decline. I am 62 years old and that truly was the worst steak I can recall and I have done some damage on the grill at times. Not trying to be insulting. It truly was. Will change to two stars as I was not overcharged. It was your process that created the misunderstanding though. And as long as you have been in business I am sure you are aware most customers who have a bad experience simply will just not come back.

Breck's is usually a hit or miss. You can go one time and it is the best food ever. Next time it is bland, barely warm, etc. However, my kids adore the spaghetti here. Not to mention wing night on Wednesdays from 4 to 8pm. Also kids eat free Monday and Tuesday 4 to 7.The older waitresses always seem to be slower and have attitudes due to me having 5 kids (one with special needs). There are a few golden waitresses though.Breck's gets a 3.5 star rating from me. If it was consecutively good I would hit the 4 star.P.s. if you like ranch you HAVE to try Breck's. It is the best ever.

We tried Brecks years ago with a bad experience but after recent posts on social media with how much they have changed we decided to try again today. Seated ourselves when we entered and greeted about 5-7 minutes later. Order our drinks and food and waited for 50 minutes. The place was not busy at all. Fried mushrooms for app, 2 burgers, Kids spaghetti, oyster Poboy and fried fish platter. I ask the waiter if they had a horseradish sauce we could add with the mushrooms and she replied yes. They came out 15 min later with ranch only. Okay not a huge deal but after seeing someone rave how good it was I wanted to try it. The ranch that it came with was excellent!! We had no plates to eat off off and I asked for her to bring some, which they never did. So we ate them off our napkins. They were pretty good but we’ve had better. Poboy and fish came out first and waited another 10 min for the burgers and spaghetti. Burgers had no flavor what soever. It was like eating plain ground beef. Spaghetti was completely watered down. I only ate the oysters from the sandwich because for one the roll was not toasted and way oversized for the meal. Fish wasn’t bad, but a big portion. Waiter was non existent and very unfriendly when she did show up. I really wished we had a better experience and we try to support small businesses but just can’t after this visit.

Great prices, decent food n great wait staff !

Very accommodating for such a large group of us! Great meal and friendly atmosphere! Kathy was our waitress/server and she was so sweet, kind and patient! If you haven’t been there, please stop in! Give them your business whether it’s just you or a few or a group!! Great job Breck’s!

I've seen such good reviews so we decided to try it out and I ordered the 9oz. rib eye and I got nothing of what even remotely looked like I've seen in any pictures. 5ozs. of this paper thin so called steak was pure fat and not "marbled fat". My baked potato was about the size of a tennis ball. My husband ordered the philly cheese steak sandwich and it wasn't even hot. He asks for ketchup and gets a handful of packets while the table next to us gets a bottle, wth is that?! Oh! let me not forget that the table was loaded with grease when we where seated ? So not recommending this place or going back EVER

I have been a customer of Breck's for many years and the food and portion sizes were very suitable and tasty back then. However now, the Rib-eye Steak was very tough with a lot of fat clunks. We had trouble cutting and chewing it; could not eat it for fear of getting indigestion from the tough steak.Green beans and the carrots portion size were very small and tasted like it was dumped out of the can with no seasoning at all tasting very bland. The Mac & cheese and cabbage were absolutely delicious, however the portion size was very, very small. The waitress services were exceptional. Don't know if we will be willing to come back to Breck's if no change in future improvements.

It's a wonderful restaurant and has been here since approximately 1960!! When I first moved here in 1980, I worked as a bartender in an upscale hotel which housed innumerable engineers from all over the country.........they would stay for days and days.....and each trip they'd always go to Breck's! Give them a try, very reasonable prices............and dont forget the carrot cake for dessert, if you aren't too full!

Ordered hamburger steak last night. Half the meat was still red inside when i got home. Salad was subpar. Ordered extra bacon and didn’t want other toppings. I got 2 lil pieces of bacon and extra topping i Didn’t requested. Please do better. Especially when i spend almost 6 bucks. Should’ve been a whole lot better.

After avoiding a 2 hour wait across the street came here instead, been wanting to try. My advice read the reviews…be of the absolute worse and cheap cut steaks I’ve ever had, staff couldn’t be bothered, just terrible. Yes it is less expensive but everything is cheap. Never never again
