Fries are very good, smash burger is good, chicken sandwiches are bland. The fact that you have to put so many condiments on to make the chicken sandwiches tasty tells you all you need to know. Note to the owner: Responding negatively or defensive to negative reviews is a huge mistake. Business 101.
I wanted to place a pickup order today for coworkers and nyself. Called the Rivers Ave store while I was driving and was told by a young guy that you can only order online. Explained I was driving and he repeated. I replied I guess I would call another restaurant and he said guess so and hung up. Wild wings was really good today and provided wonderful service!
When I entered the place at 7:53pm the place was being cleaned preparing to close at 8:00pm. The place was still clean upon entering the location. The customer service was exceptional when I placed the order.I inquired about the rewards and if it was still available. I was informed that the rewards was still apart of the restaurant.However, the system was having technical difficulties throughout the day and my number was not found.Seems like one of the employee was ready to go, but I didn't like the way he was acting because I was taking like 2 mins at the machine. However, I cancelled my order and requested a refund, and advise them I would go somewhere to eat.I thank them for the execeptional customer service at the POS and left. The refund took place at 8:00pm. ?????
I would like to share my experience I had at this location today . I was with my husband and sis trying to just have a good time and eat out . Unfortunately though are experience went down hill very quickly when two the employees left the dining area to go to what looks like the corporate office that has see through door and start horsing around and screaming and yelling then it looks like they started making out or hugging idk just very unprofessional. Then finally as we were finishing they were singing an inappropriate song in the back where it heard like one of them said the N word and not of them is African American back in there . Love the food but employees/staff on duty were extremely unprofessional .
3 stars for the sweet potato fries. Got the boxcar, prominent taste was the Slaw, wasn't a bad sandwich just OK. Fried green tomatoes weren't good IMO. This is a been there done that won't be back type of place.
Don't understand the hype. I always give restaurants 2 chances so this is only my first visit to this location. We were the first to arrive around 11:50. I ordered a salad, my son and husband both had the sandwiches. Everything was just OKAY. The chicken on my salad wasn't even warm. My husband enjoyed his sandwich, but my son said his was just warm. The place really needs a thorough cleaning.
I will say service fast and friendly and the food was good. It's kinda on the higher end, I got one chicken sandwich,French fries and a tea and my total was around $18.
Boxcar Betty's consistently has one of the best chicken sandwiches you can buy. This convenient Rivers Ave location is easy to find at the end of it's building. I believe they I have had literally everything on their small menu, so I guess I'm as much of an expert as one can be. The best thing here is definitely the Not-So-Waffle sandwich. It's truly amazing.So why only 4 stars? Two reasons.1. The desserts are not good. Don't come for anything sweet. Pie-in-a-cup was so bad, I couldn't finish it.2. COVID has made every order a to-go other. Eating inside happens, but it feels like they don't appreciate it. Where we used to get baskets of sandwiches, now they are bagged and wrapped, not as easy to eat. I know it's petty, but it's just an annoyance to me.Nevertheless, I'll happily keep eating at Betty's. Not-so-waffle forever!
Nice people, good food, good location, enough parking. Boyfriend did a build a sandwich and I had some of it. Worth the price. They've recently partnered with someone making macaroons and they look good too!
Was sadly disappointed. I goto the west ashley store all the time with a great experience every time. This store needs work. The chicken was really dry. The sweet potato fries were cold and they charged 27 cents for a cup of ranch that was half full. When i asked them if they could at least fill it up i was given an attitude. Unfortunately i will not be coming back to this one.
