We stopped in to grab some pina colads. The drinks were very good. While there, we decided to oder some food to go. The food and drinks took a long time to come out. The fries were room temperature and soggy. The burger looked ok. The place was not full at the time so I'm not sure what the delay was. We didn't send the food back we just took it and left.
Came here for Father’s Day Weekend. Food was ok, nothing to get excited about. We ordered wings, fries, MahiMahi sandwich, and the chicken spring rolls for an appetizer and lemonade. When the bill came it was over $130.00, which included gratuity. There were only 3 of us in our party. No warning or anything about this. I can see if we had about 7 or 8 people in our party. On top of that the service was terrible! We had to ask another server to tell our server that we needed refills. Then she didn’t come for another 10 minutes. But she came pronto, when it was time to give us the bill. When asked about the gratuity she said that they add it in automatically. Had we known this we would not have even went there. Our first choices of options were closed(Banditos and Epic Arcade Restaurant) Felt very cheated by the gratuity practice.
We ate here on numerous occasions and the food and staff were amazing! If you go be sure to ask for Dean's Cream, it's a shot that tastes just like angel food cake and it is delicious.
The decor is very fun, lots of things to read and look at but not overdone or cheesy. We had some cocktails, our waitress happened to be the bartender at the time, it was a quiet Sunday. I have a favorite uncommon drink I make at home and she duplicated it perfectly and consistantly. Food was quick and very well done. We tried 3 different appetizers, all were well executed. I see the only common complaint in the reviews is price but this place is on the beach, with a spectacular view and is spacious. I can't imagine what it cost to be in a location like that and we thought the price, although higher than some was fair for the food, drinks, and view we experienced.
We had well drinks for $3. Disappointed that they consider Black Velvet Whiskey their well bourbon, since it's not bourbon at all. Apps were 20% off. Most apps were $12 or $13 before discount. Crab dip was good. Atmosphere was fun. Not crowded on a Friday.
Food was good but overpriced. We ordered a dozen wings, mozzarella sticks, fish tacos, and fried cauliflower. No alcohol, just a water and a soda. Bill came to $118.34, plus an automatic tip of $15 was added to our bill without warning. We almost tipped on top of that as we did not see it at first. Other places in the area we went to this week let us know immediately that gratuity is included in bill. We didn't have a problem with that and often tip very well, but we do prefer to choose how much to tip or know ahead of time if it's included. Or at least be told at some point.
Don't recommend, Over price, Tip of $20 just added to bill without option. The pina colada wasn't frozen and was half water and nasty. My husband and I's bill for hamburgers and one drink $86.00. We ate dinner at pier 14 cheaper then that.
We really enjoyed our visit to 8th Avenue Tiki Bar and Grill. We were seated outside on the patio with a view of the ocean and a great breeze. We had a large group and were served by Kyle who was super. He was attentive and took great care of us. We enjoyed the Buffalo Nachos, Calamari, and Buffalo Shrimp. Kyle was so great that we went back again Good time and good food!
I don't typically leave reviews, good or bad, but this was terrible. First off, I have 14 years Executive or Sous Chef experience in upscale casual dining restaurants. The drinks were pure alcohol, Mai Tai was terrible and couldn't finish, $10+ drink in a clear plastic 16 oz. cup. The food was terrible, the oil in the fryer has obviously not been changed/filtered in several days and that taste transferred to the french fries (if you've worked in a restaurant, you know what I'm talking about). The service was okay, other than the kids meals coming out 10 minutes after the rest of the food was dropped off at our table. I'm really sorry after waiting 18 months to go out to a sit-down restaurant that I selected this restaurant. In short, I would recommend not wasting your money at this restaurant, the food was better at the carnival up the road.
The waitress Seleena was amazing, kind and so sweet to our wild bunch children. Every item we ordered was amazing!!!!! Pizza, pretzels, fried cauliflower and crab dip. Perfect.
