We waited on the steps outside for 25 mins for a party of 3. When seated we noticed there were probably more than half the tables opened. Our server, not sure her name, she never said took over 10 mins to get to the table. She wasn’t very friendly when she finally showed up. We ordered Calamari, grouper tacos, fish and chips and firecracker shrimp. The tacos were not what I would expect at all. Too many different flavors and none blended well together. The fish and chips as well as calamari literally reminded me of the 90’s eating as a teenager at Applebees. That’s being polite. The food was so disappointing. Costco food is probably what we ate. To make things more annoying we were charged 18% auto gratuity! After the bill came and they ran our card we noticed there was. Tip suggested amount based on the total check. The total check that already included gratuity! We couldn’t believe how shady this place was! They want us to DOUBLE tip? Awful service and terrible food! Don’t waste your money or appetite on this sad place!
Nice ocean view, drinks ok, food very over priced and not good. Steak very fatty, chicken overcooked and dry, coutons on salad rock hard, vegetables undercooked. Service average. 18 % automatic gratuity. 4 8 % credit card fee.
I popped in from the beach (staying next door) to get drinks for my husband and myself. Very few people in the bar area. They bartender ignored me for 10 minutes, even after I had asked for a drink menu. I finally went to the other side of the bar, she took my order, made the drinks, and then I had to wait again to get her to take my money. I was in there for 1/2 hour for 2 drinks. She never even said thank you, but they automatically add 18% gratuity to each bill. I don't have a problem with that if it's decent service, but she was downright rude and just ignored that she had a customer. Never went back which is a shame since it was so convenient to our hotel.
I know that some of this review is not the fault of Sharkey's. But, when from the city and the establishment start to nickel & dime consumers. it adds up. Hopefully owners will take this to the city council to help change things. we were already a bit disappointed with having to pay to park (but we get its tourist season, what happened to locals parking permits??); as a local military veteran that grew up here in the restaurant industry before joining the military, i know that wait stuff should be knowledgable about whats "86'd" and what is in stock. we ordered one of the appetizers as an entree & did not find out it was sold out until almost 20 mins after ordering our entrees;the filet mignon on the menu states it is served with a red wine demi glazed sauce, yet it came out with what looked and tasted like a mushroom sauce, which i usually avoid mushrooms. Perhaps adding that little nugget of info to the menus would help consumers in their decision process, i will say the steak was cooked properly and very good otherwise once i removed the mushrooms. The drinks were great, along as the view. The atmosphere was good. We have lived in MB a good 20 years & came home to visit & just thrown off by the cost of every little thing.
Honestly, not great. The food is very expensive for the portions they offer and the drinks are fairly weak. The place in general need a fix up, the tables were sticky and the staff isn't all that presentable. Our waitress was an exception, who was pleasant and presentable. We liked her. The fella busing tables was very nice too.The food was a mix of satisfying and unsatisfying. I ordered the blackened fish dinner with a side salad. The fish itself was delicious, but the potatoes were extremely salty to the point we couldn't finish them. The side salad was pretty pathetic. Some lettuce, a handful of shredded cheese and two grape tomatoes...Lastly, when the bill came we were surprised to see an 18% gratuity for just the two of us. We customarily give 20% in tip when we dine out and understand the mandatory gratuity for large parties, but seeing it forced on you puts a bad taste in your mouth... And less cash tips in your waitress' pocket.Overall this place feels rundown and maybe on it's last leg. It seems like a place that use to have character, bands, dancing and and overall fun atmosphere. Find a way to bring that back.
Sharkeys myrtle beach . Food portions are small and salty .way over priced . We were charged a credit card fees which we didn’t know till they gave the receipt back . Don’t bother to go there . There are plenary of other options on the board walk .
This is a great spot with public beach access. Pay to park. Gluten free options, but you have to ask. Service was fast & friendly. Food & Beverage was great!
Picked this place for the view & a cash back deal on upside. First thing is the tacos were good. Not my issue. My husbands lobster roll he liked but felt it was small for the price. Think they should consider larger portions maybe more fries, third taco etc. we hesitated to order an appetizer & didn’t bc of the automatic 18 % gratuity even for 2 ppl. It was almost $60 for 2 drinks, & one lobster roll & tacos. We left hungry. Prices, rent etc going up everywhere but still want value for your money. No automatic tipping on small parties anywhere else we’ve been. We won’t be back sorry to say.
Me and my spouse accidentally pick this place. Service was good not many people but okay. Our food was hot and good. The calamari was rubbery but other than that good place. Prices could be lesser.
Ate at the Mexican part of the establishment. Basically a too with 1 oz of beef and the rest was pico. And that was mainly onion. Instant tea, plenty of refills. I noticed others left much of their plates too.
