On a busy night we were seated quickly. The onion rings are phenomenal, and my burger and fries were great. My partner had the popcorn shrimp platter and enjoyed it. The coleslaw was alright, but I wasn't particularly crazy about the raisins in it, or that it was served at room temperature. I'd recommend the restaurant if you're in the mood for awesome burgers.
Great service and unique place. Has tons of character. Cleanly. I got some island burger which had jalepeno and pineapple on it and it was cooked to perfection and different but super tasty. I would definitely recommend coming for a burger and nice lunch outting.
Hamburgers were delicious as well as the onion rings! Would definitely eat here again if we're ever in Myrtle Beach again!
Walked here from my hotel this week not wanting to get in my truck to go find food. I have to say, this place was pretty good. When I first walked in I was a little unsure, as the hostess did not seem to know if they had bar seating(I believe she was new) She quickly spoke to a server at the bar who brought out the bar stool and got me hooked up with a menu and took my drink order quickly. I ordered a margarita and it seemed to be a good deal. I chose the blackened mahi and fries and I have to say that they were quite good. Sitting at the bar also told me that I definitely need to come back as all of the food coming from the kitchen came out at the bar and everything looked amazing. I will have to try a burger next time and the onion rings looked as big as your head. Some of the servers were sharing some sort of cheese stick popper things and offered some to me and they were insanely good. As an airplane nut, I enjoyed the bit of aviation decorations up by the bar. Next time I'm in the area I will make it a point to stop here again.
We love River City Cafe's burgers. Always a great meal when we go. This last visit did have some slower service than usual. Our waitress would come by and disappear for long stretches of time. Overall, the food is worth the time. We make it a point to go back every time we visit the area. Highly recommend!
I wanted to grab a couple salads to go for a quick lunch. They stated they were not doing take out orders.... I told the woman that I would just sit down and then get a couple to go boxes. She was visibly frustrated with me for even making such a suggestion. Instead of making an extra 20 dollars for the lunch hour I went next door where they were delighted to have the extra easy money! I hope I can update this review, but don't really want to go back.
Loved the atmosphere between the decor and music. Drove my wife nuts singing along to the music at times ?. Food was also delicious and not overpriced. One of our favorite places to eat while we were on vacation.
Just an honest review, customer service was very good. Burger had little flavor, outside seating was uncomfortable due to so many large brown bugs all over the deck. Upgrades and exterminator would help this friendly place tremendously.
River City Cafe- 208 73rd Ave North: My experience: I went there last night and ordered a reuben sandwich. Nona (the waitress) took the order, even wrote it down and the sandwich came back with burnt toast. I asked for new bread, not burnt and she came back with a sandwich (not a rueben) with fish and a fried egg on it, I told her it wasn't what I ordered and her cluelessness was ridiculous. She took the sandwich back and it again came back with fish and a fried egg on it.. NOT what I ordered. My daughters sandwich was also wrong. On the 4th attempt, the sandwich was correct but it was so greasy and had so much salt on it, I couldn't eat it. I believe this was intentional because Nona never once apologized for this fiasco and charged us for sandwiches that were horrible. SO beware, if you complain about the food being inedible, they will punish you. The margaritas had so little alcohol that I am not sure if they even had ANY alcohol in them. I'm pretty sure there wasn't..
This place is great! The atmosphere is amazing and very welcoming, and I can't wait to cone here again! And the good is absolutely astounding!! Cassie was an amazing waitress too, thank you!
