This restaurant is a well oiled machine. We got there right as they opened, waited about a half hour. Staff was courteous and pleasant. Chef was wonderful! I feel he will engage more once he doesn't have to wear a mask, I felt bad, he looked hot. Portions are large, we all brought home leftovers which helps justify the price. Saki Mai Tai was warm and not very good.

Food is good. Portions are huge. Staff is very friendly and nice to the customers. Worst part - they don’t have reservation system or any good way to track wait list, buzzer system. Our wait time was more than 90 mins and there were more than 70 people in lobby waiting for the table. Another thing is that they don’t have a good exhaust or air conditioning system for hibachi tables. It gets pretty hot.

If you are allergic to seafood, don’t eat here. Even though the chef prepared my food first, and we were the first table of the day, I still had an allergic reaction. It does say it on the menu but I was sure it was okay, and I wasn’t. No fault of this restaurant! I’m just helping any fellow allergy prone people. The food was good, rice heavy, entertaining, and pricy. Good beer and bourbon selection at the bar. Our chef and server were amazing. Other than my trip to the immediate care, everyone else in my family was pleased.

My wife and I along with our 10-year old twin girls recently took in dinner at Miyabi as part of our first time visit to Myrtle Beach. After hearing several positive reviews from a variety of sources regarding their food and the dining experience as a whole, we decided to head on over to see what all the fuss was about. That said, here’s what we walked away with: ARRIVAL: Be forewarned, Miyabi is an extremely popular Myrtle Beach haunt, so plan accordingly. On account of the fact that this establishment doesn’t take reservations, our first attempt earlier in the week had us arriving at 8pm and being told there was a 90 minute wait, so cut our losses that night. Upon returning the following Monday (which we theorized would be the least busy option since their sushi bar is closed that day), we rolled up at the doors at 5pm… only to be placed on a 45 minute waiting list right out of the gate. With nowhere else important to be and a strong-willed determination this time, we patiently waited out the time limit before finally being called. The greeters were courteous, though you do get a sense and feel for how busy they are. That said were welcomed by a friendly host who had us seated in no time. Very lively spot, chock full of atmosphere, five stars here. MEALS: Though exactly what we all ordered escapes me at the moment, I do remember my meal (teriyaki chicken/shrimp) being extremely tasty and delicious. It had been a few years since my last hibachi restaurant visit, and we did not leave disappointed. Rest assured, you will not be wanting for food, all of us taking home doggie bags at the end! Even our very discriminating 10 year olds enjoyed everything. No complaints, only smiles here. SERVICE: Chef John was nothing short of a spectacular showman, and had us all thoroughly entertained. Our girls marveled at his skill, and were transfixed for the entire affair. You truly have lucked out if you happen to have him turn up at your table. In addition, the hostess who kept checking on us was very friendly and attentive, never leaving us long enough to notice anything missing or needed. Five stars, both of them! VALUE: Yes, buckle up, the price tag may be steep, but our experience worth every dollar. At the end of the day, value will always be subjective variable, and can vary from visit to visit, but when weighing out the combination of food and service we received, we felt like we walked away with a win. THE BOTTOM LINE: Miyabi does have a reputation that precedes it as one of the more unique dining options to experience while in Myrtle Beach, and we were glad to have been afforded the opportunity to do so. But in an area where tourism is king, be sure to manage expectations and muster up as much patience as you can spare to get past the front door. If you’re able to reaffirm both of those, you will be rewarded with a fantastic novelty dining experience that rewards its visitors with something they’ll surely remember. Five stars, well done Miyabi. Kanpai!

We go here every time we are visiting Myrtle Beach. We are never disappointed. They no longer take reservations, but they are very efficient at getting people seated with very minimal wait. An employee came out into the parking lot before they even opened and started taking names and number of people in your party. We arrived at 4:20, were in the door by 4:27 and were on our way back out at 5:40. The food is good. The portions are large -- especially the rice. The chefs are very talented and entertaining. Service is fast and efficient and friendly. They allow you to share for an upcharge of about $8, which includes soup and salad for both people sharing. It's a good deal. There's still plenty to eat even when sharing.

Ask for Kenny!! You will not be disappointed. Come hungry!! You get a Ton of food. This has been the Best dining experience we ever had!! Kenny did A GREAT JOB!!!

The atmosphere is nice but this is an American-ized version of a Japanese steak house. Chef was lackluster in personality and going thru the motions. He didn't seem as skilled as chefs we have seen at other places. The food portions are beyond HUGE ...look at.this block of rice for one person! No egg, no add-ins, just some soy sauce and salt and then chunked off and put on the plate. The proteins were tasty. Would not go back, would try one of the other places on my next trip.

First we were seated with a great group of people. Our server was very sweet and attentive. Our chef was a riot, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food, presentation and service.

The food was mediocre, though tasty, but the management is severely lacking. If the wait time is quoted at 30 min be prepared to wait closer to 1.5 hours, because at any point Kirk, the general manager, may decide to seat people that were not planned/expected or waiting. When we confronted him about it, he was unapologetic and said it was the “owner’s request.” A little kindness and humility would have been appropriate. The meal was very rice heavy, minimal vegetables, and no palate cleanse (sherbet) at the end. The proteins were standard for this style restaurant, and the chef was friendly but there was nothing particularly special or entertaining about the service. We made the best of our night, but we will not be coming back in the future. There are far too many options in the Myrtle Beach area! I would rather spend my money in an establishment that offers better value and appreciates its customers. I encourage you to do the same!
