We visit family in MB every year and have made reservations at Hook and Barrel every summer. The service is excellent, the food is consistently perfect, and the ambiance/environment is a combination of intimate, spacious, and beautiful. This staff goes out of their way to make your meal a pleasant one. It is worth every penny. Do yourself a favor and make reservations in advance, however. There is a long wait for walk ins so plan ahead. You won’t be disappointed!
This was our second time and it was a great experience. We had the short ribs, halibut and peach dumpling- they were all fabulous! Brian, our server, was exceptional! Tyler, the manager, checked in multiple times. It was all wonderful and we will be back!
We chose the Hook and Barrel based on reviews we read and were not disappointed. Great location, excellent service and food. Tried the bourbon maple bacon appetizer - it was delicious. I had crab cakes and my husband had the braised beef short ribs. Both great selections. We shared the creme Brule for dessert. We definitely will return when we are in Myrtle Beach.
This restaurant is the whole package. Fantastic food. The bourbon bacon appetizer was a huge hit. Absolutely loved the shrimp and grits. The kids had chicken strips and Mac and cheese. I have never seen them eat so much. I tried a piece of a chicken tender, it was seasoned perfectly, moist and crisp. Oh and dessert. They have their own bakery. My son didn't like peaches before and now he is hooked on peach crisp. I highly recommend this restaurant for a family meal or a romantic night oit.
Staff was efficient and prompt and food was delicious. We’ve never had an issue in this restaurant - This place is a must if you’re in the area.
This was our first time at Hook and Barrel based on a recommendation from a friend. The restaurant itself gives off the coolest vibe. The service was outstanding and the BACON presentation was truly to die for. We ate here twice in one week I think that says it all..
Hook and Barrel was recommended last year by my neighbors in North Myrtle Beach. Since then I have recommended the place to many people and have visited every time I’m in North Myrtle. I especially love their bourbon and lemonade drink, and their tuna poke. The staff, ambience, food is excellent. I also recommend their breakfast and lunch restaurant right next-door called croissants and such. Visit there often.
First time coming here on vacation for a date night. Loved the bar decor. Appetizers were enticing and the drink menu was varied. Loved the tuna poke, and the crab cakes were the best!
We love this place! We are so glad that we don't live close by, or we would eat ere at least every other night!!!! Start with bourbon bacon & end with chocolate mound--everything else there is just as superb!!!
Ate here twice this week while on vacation. Service was excellent and the food was really good. We felt food was pricey and had room for improvement. Enjoyed the bourbon shots/tasting! Shrimp and grits was very good and had only 5 shrimp. Seared scallops were seared well and served in what amounted to creamed corn. There were 5 good sized scallops.
