My wife’s friend had grilled salmon. We each opted for fried combos. I had seafood platter: flounder, oysters, shrimp, scallops and crab cakes. With sweet potato fries and house salad. Salad was very nice. Fries were excellent. Crab cake was very tasty. Flounder good as was shrimp and oysters. Scallops had a little odd taste. Wife had shrimp and oysters. Good but not the best in the area. The hush puppies were very unique and good. Wife said the cinnamon roll was fine but not special. Can do better for quality of food. Service was very good though.

How's this place been open 50 years?! Went last night and our server had no clue how to handle my wife's dairy allergy. The bartender was asked - not sure why the server didn't ask mgmt or the chef - if there was dairy in the cole slaw but the bartender thinks cow's lay eggs! Anyway, even after my wife told the hostess about our issues, and after a more experience server came over and told us how she handles food allergies, my wife received her meal with NO SIDES. I'd be careful eating at a place than can't even prepare a baked potato without dairy! When my wife asked about the sides the server said "I don't THiNK you can have any without butter." And, earlier, he did offer a gluten free menu and he had to be educated that gluten free has nothing to do with a dairy allergy. I think we should have been given a discount for their ignorance regarding dairy and the lack of side dishes. Oh, my meal, it was OK - nothing to get excited about and small portions and overpriced. Additionally, it took an extended amount of time to get waited on, get our food, and pay our bill. I would avoid this place.

This restaurant was a huge disappointment. We had a party of 8 & all of our meals were mediocre at best. I had the scallops and they were inedible. They were not fresh. I only could eat 1. Terrible. Most of us felt sick afterwards. The so called fish stew was filled with chewy, bad seafood in a dull tomato broth. The famous hush puppies & cinnamon rolls were likely the best the restaurant offered but the server brought them after we had to ask for them after our meals arrived. Service was rushed. No way we will ever go back.

Arrived and it was vert busy. Walked in and hostess told me 10-15 min wait, and held to that time. Was escorted kindly to table, and provided initial drinks, cinnamon rolls, and hush puppies. Service was prompt throughout. Kids both had shrimp meals and it was very good price and portions. I had steak and shrimp, also decent portions for price. Only wish the steak meal came with 2 sides instead of one. Server was prompt, but waitress could have been a tad more cordial.

Menu lists king crab legs. On arriving big sign says no crab legs. They didn't have any type of crab legs, calms or mussels. Crab cakes had shells in them and lobster pie didn't have any lobster in it . Not very good

We visit CH every year we visit MB. The service and food is always good. There is usually a 20-30 minute wait depending on time of day. CH has early bird and senior special pricing. There are many seafood options and plenty available for the non seafood eaters. Don’t stuff yourself on the delicious hush puppies and cinn rolls so you don’t enjoy your dinner. Take them with you for later. Quality food for a reasonable price.

Thought I’d try it again but was just as disappointed as the last time I came . Wanted to take my daughter somewhere nice for her 30th birthday. Made a reservation for a Tuesday night at 6 a week in advance. We got there and we still had to wait a half hour for a table? Why make a reservation? That’s how long people were waiting without one . We then got seated in the lounge. This is why I stopped coming here a few years back . The food was okay . Won’t be trying to come back again .

This is my third trip to Myrtle Beach and I don't miss eating at the Chesapeake House. They have wonderful seafood and servers. Each meal some with a basket of hush puppies and cinnamon buns that taste great!

We eat here every time we visit Myrtle. You need to know they serve homemade cinnamon rolls as an appetizer. Early birds usually get a window seat for the little lake.

My family and I were looking for a seafood restaurant and had a couple on the list to try. We had passed Chesapeake on our way to one of the other restaurants on our list and I decided to look it up online to see what it was all about. Immediately saw the cinnamon rolls & many good reviews and was sold. The restaurant we had originally been on our way to try told us an 1.5 hour wait so off to Chesapeake we went. The interior was dark lit, carpeted and just overall aged. I tried not to let this give me a premature opinion of the place as some of the best places can be totally awful looking inside. Food came and it was nothing to be excited about but it was good. Good, not great. Clam chowder was probably the best part, it was really good and come out really hot ,like soup should. Salads/Cole slaw came out, they were good. Food came out awhile later, not wonderful, just average. My daughter and I had the combination platter with grilled shrimp (good flavor but cold) and fish fingers (lukewarm and limp). My husband had the baked fish, it was mostly cold and felt the crab cake mixture over the top was over baked and dry. Our bill for 3 people was about $90 without tip which wasn’t bad. The restaurant definitely had the reviews and the things to grab our attention to get us there, they just unfortunately “dropped the ball” to make it a well worth it visit. Maybe it was an off night but unfortunately I don’t think we will be back.
