Best I've had in a long time. I can't recommend this place enough. We came late and didn't realize they were closing. But the manager let us order Togo and the food was so good we came back the next day to dine in. The collard green dip was delicious and served with fresh tortilla chips. We also got cheese sticks, buffalo shrimp, fried fish, shrimp and grits, and the shrimp poboy. It was all delicious and well worth the prices. Seriously, the shrimp was huge and perfectly fried. Everything was seasoned well and cooked with so much love. And you can tell they're popular because there's a line out the door by dinner time, so order ahead or get there early. Also, the croissant bignets are always worth it.

Line was long but when u service good food it makes sense. I got the fried chicken meal with candied yams, rice n gravy and baked beans. The chicken was most and juicy with alot of flavor. The yams were DAMN good and the rice and baked beans were good too. If your not in a rush then you should definitely stop here, you won't regret it!

The Peach Cobbler is as good as my grandma’s. I have never eaten anywhere where the food was as good as my grandma’s. EVER. Nuff said.

I love the cooking. The portions were generous. The food was seasoned perfectly. The service was fast and courteous, Friendly helpful staff. Would definitely eat here again and again.

Food was amazing. Perfectly season. My first time here and when I come back to visit Myrtle Beach this will be a place I will stop by!! Best of all soul food… this place need to be on Diner Drive ins and Dives?

Customer service from Iona was excellent! The shrimp and grits were not good. The grits were clumpy and the shrimp smelled a day old. I spoke with management and he said he would do nothing. Trying to support the business I paid for a second order of a fish sandwich. The bread was falling apart and the taste was bland. Paid for two meals to be dissatisfied.

I love it here... I ate here 2x during my visit to the beach. Everything was sooo good. Do NOT sleep on the bignets!!! I AM HUNGRY JUST THINKING ABOUT IT. Staff was also very friendly! Shout out to BIg Mike!!

My wife and I eat out for nearly every meal. That's not an exaggeration. We eat at restaurants probably more than 95% of the time. That's probably a low estimate. We budget about $2000 a month for eating out. And that is when we are not travelling. When we travel, we splurge. We're not here to tell you that we have any better palate than anyone else. But we have a lot of experience at dining out. From hole-in-the-wall joints, to celebrity chef kitchens. We do it all. And I am telling you that Big Mike's Soul Food is SOME OF THE BEST FOOD YOU WILL EVER HAVE. This isn't haute cuisine. It's soul food. But as far as the quality is concerned, it is every bit as good as some of the top restaurants I have ever been to. Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen quality? Big Mike's is right up there. You name it. You are going to have a hard time finding better quality soul food anywhere. ANYWHERE. When we visited Myrtle Beach, this place popped up on a few lists of places that were good local places to eat. We had no idea how good it was going to be. Let me start by saying that Big Mike's is not a fancy place. It's very much a blue collar, down home, diner kind of vibe. While not fancy, it is a clean and well run place. The wait staff was super friendly. But the food is the absolute star. The wife and I ordered the same thing, which was a mistake. It would have given us the opportunity to try multiple main dishes. We both had the pork chops. In retrospect, one order would have been enough for both of use, and we could have just ordered an extra side or two. Or three. Whatever, man... these sides are outstanding. Normally we don't dine at a place more than once, unless we really love it. And almost NEVER when we are travelling. But my wife and I discussed eating ONLY at Big Mike's while we were on our week-long vacation in Myrtle Beach. On one hand, I'm glad we opted not to do so, because we did find some other gems in Myrtle beach and North Myrtle Beach (plus Murrell's Inlet), but I was super stoked to see that Big Mike's had a food truck when we happened upon the Myrtle Beach Food Truck Festival. So we were able to sample more of Big Mike's during our trip. And it was clear that Big Mike's Soul Food was no secret to the locals. Not only was the restaurant busy when we visited, but the line at the food truck the next day was the longest line out of a whole lot of food trucks. I'm not going to go into the details of each item we tried. Just know that we thought all of it was as good as it gets. If you enjoy Southern food, soul food, then please do yourself a favor if you are ever in this part of South Carolina. One detail I will mention is the value. The wife and I dined here for about $26, including the tip. I don't know how that's even possible. We agreed that we would easily pay triple or more for food of this quality. In fact, we have paid much more for food that wasn't nearly as good!

Food and service were great. The fried oysters, mustard greens & fried okra were all delicious. I will definitely visit again on my next trip to Mrytle Beach.

Three couples from across the country came together for a vacation in MB. While we were there, we at at Big Mikes twice. The food was absolutely delicious & the service was fantastic. It felt like we were sitting around the table in a family home. Loved it!
